I HATE PCs SO MUCH!!!

Like John, I get sick of hearing nonsense from iJerks over here, for the exact same reasons he's already stated.

I've been a happy PC/Windows user for 15 years or so. My boss bought me a Macbook once. I took it out of its case for half an hour and played with it a bit. Then I put it away and hid it behind my sofa, where it stayed for about 3 years. Than I got another job and had to give it back.

Can't say I really miss it that much. :p

oh, and if it sounds like i'm a little bitter, i have to admit i am. i've been an apple fan since i got my first ][e in '83. i used macs all through college in the 80's and 90's, and i wanted, more than anything else, to be a card-carrying mac zealot. but i just honestly can't. apple, to me, is just everything that is lame, abberrant and corrupt in the computing industry, all the more pernicious for it's cutsie image and self-assumed mantle of "cooler-than-thou".

here's a perfect example of the crap that is apple. when i put the laptop together to get the price the nice friendly apple site slipped into the order a copy of quicktime, without me asking, at a $30 dollar charge, hoping i guess that i wouldn't notice.
So instead you become a card carrying PC zealot. :hmm:

Personally I prefer just to recognise what each system is good for, and what its not and use accordingly. YMMV :) Not recognising the flaws in the PC/MS model is just as self delusional as the so called "Mac superiority". Just cos lots of people are deluded about the same thing, doesn't mean the delusion is true! :D

There are 3 Dells in my house, each one has come with an absurd amount of junk on it. AOL trial packs, stupid poorly designed multimedia programs, links to websites that want you to buy stuff.

Hell, I'd rather be cheated into paying $30 for Quicktime (even though I dislike it) than having to spend 30 to 40 minutes getting rid of the plethora of advertisement crap that comes with Dells or other comp brands (HP does it too). :hmm:

damstrait. it's because of pc's that i have what serves me as a career.

Now that is something I can at least partially agree with. Bloatware is really annoying and I wish companies would stop filling machines with this ****. When I get a new computer I always spend a while doing a clean install to make sure everything is as I like it.

there is your problem.... you bought dells... the most over priced, bloatware laden pc on the market.

i'd rather not be cheated into spending money on anything i don't need or want, to be honest, and that includes an extra $2000 for a mac logo and one less button on my mouse. :).

OMFG! I am SO close to throwing my computer out the window. :spit:

It's riddled with viruses and adware thanks to running on Avast* for a year or two. I can't ****ing believe how incredibly bad PCs can get. I have friends who have Macs that have been running with no firewalls or virus protection for YEARS and they still boot up in under a minute. Or should I say I hate Windows? It's not like my PC has crap specs. But thanks to a crappy OS and loads of viruses that float around for it, my computer is on the verge of completely dying.

EVERYTHING IS SO SLOW!!!

ARGHHH!!!

*Please, never use this program. Save yourself the trouble and pay for a decent virus protection program like Windows One Care. Avast is PATHETIC, at best.

Sorry for the rant.

Sorry for your problems - but you know what they boil down to? Decisions on your part. It ain't the computer, it's the operator. Now that you know more, you can do better and avoid these problems in the future.

PCs and Macs are both excellent machines, they're just different.

my current laptop, cost me less than $1100 brand new in december.

dual core 2.6 ghz
4 gig 667 ram
350 gig 7200 harddrive
1920x1200

here's a mac with the same loadout (mine lacks only the firewire 400 out, does have the 800, and my harddrive is bigger)...

over 3 times the price. epic FAIL. do you have any idea the kind of pc laptop i could get for $3400 ?

you are right on there. apple charges way to much for upgraded models.

i bought a macbook refurbished for $900...threw about $300 bucks in upgrading it....which is a breeze by the way on the macbooks....now it has the same specs as the $1800 version lol

my mac gets me laid....and scares away dangerous wildlife though....how many pcs can do that!?

buy a Mac

we need to clarify as john brought up a good point.

buy the lowest level macbook....and then upgrade the hardrive and ram yourself...

then buy a time capsul...they own...
