Another bass player. There are a few notables who do both well, we know who they are. Most were experienced players first who one way or another got hooked into doing the singing too. Learning to sing and play isn't too tough if you already have the chops, acquiring the chops isn't easy if you're trying to sing too. And the lead singers always score the best babes unless your name is Geddy or Sting.what the hell should i get????

i dunno man.... i did the GTG in 03' (in my past life...eh hem)... everybody drank my beer! annnd there was no AC!
the OP might be able to get a used redhead for around $700... she may be a lil beat up though! those were pretty good back then!
i have a redhead as it is, she's the best! i play mesa though!
You are wasting your money in the long run buying behringer bass equipment trust me. GK backline600/Peavey tour stuff and even Hartke 3500 would all be a better head IMO. I had a berhinger combo amp catch on fire !so would a behringer bx4500H go good with hartke 4x10 and 1x15???
damn, im in tampa though
I based my judgement on the question posed. Experienced players probably have gear already.I won't even begin to guess how technically proficient you are - that wasn't really the point of your question, now was it?
.
Same here. When I have a song that I sing lead on while playing bass I have to get my bass part down to the point that I can play it by reflex without thinking about it, so I can concentrate on the words and vocal technique. Singing while strumming chords is much easier.I can sing and play guitar, but singing and playing bass is a whole nother animal for some reason. I don't know why but it's a lot harder unless all you do is quarter notes throughout every song.

Well, if you are in a hury:

I don't know if I agree with all that. It can be done. I do it. I know quite a few other bassists who can sing lead as well. However, I do think you're right that strapping on a bass reduces the lead singer's scoring chances by at least 20%.Another bass player. redhead?
Probably being the key word there. Why can't you just help the guy out by suggesting some gear, or keep your fingers quiet? Sorry, I just get sick of smart a$$ replies that contribute nothing.
