I had a jazz once. I ended up selling it. Sometimes, I GAS for a Geddy Lee jazz. But I just don't dig the jazz sound. If I get a Geddy Lee I will just end up selling it or trading it for something else.

Jazz basses are the best basses for any and every possible thing. Period. If you don't have one, get one. If you can't get one, find a corner to cry in. If you don't want one, see a doctor. If he can't help, quit.

You just have to deal with the fact that my bass is better than yours... unless your bass is a Jazz bass, in which case, you've made the right choice and may continue playing and enjoying a fine, well-crafted instrument.

Think I'm wrong? Fight me. And proceed to lose because I have a Jazz bass and you have something that is not a Jazz bass and therefore inferior.

I have been playing bass for 48 years and have never owned a Fender bass of any model.
I just don't like them. I don't like the way they look and they feel clunky to me.
Might also be an issue for me because when I started playing bass I weighed about 82lbs and a Fender bass seemed to weigh almost as much as I did.
Other problem is they just don't have enough frets! What was Leo thinking?

I am playing classic rock and I have played a friends jazz a few times and love the feel of the neck but, I find the P with flats and the Gibson products with rounds get me the sound of that era. But I do gas for a maple jazz just to add to my collection
