I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

Link Removed
Blower box came in last night, been playing around with it all day today. Sounds pretty killer even at low volumes through my at-home cab(Avatar 2x10). Can't wait to run it through my full gigging rig and see what it can really do. This pedal seems to be very responsive in the lower regions of the gain control. Cleans up nicely with a light touch, and then gets pretty snarly when you dig in. Turning the gain up can add some interesting synthy attack to the notes, but seems to lose a bit of the fundamental sustain(maybe due to the restrained volumes I'm playing at?). So far I'm very happy with it. I don't have a second power supply handy atm, so have yet to try pairing it with the B3K. That will happen whenever I can get to the practice space with my full rig.

Now I just need a good fuzz, and maybe a verb, and I'll be set for a while... Hopefully.

By "darkside" , i mean the desire to exceed (or "win" over) the sound of guitars through distortion. Lost in the mix you will.

Past 12 o´clock on the gain knob the blowerbox become a Fuzz, and depending on your settings things can go good or grong for you, but if you keep it low gain the pedal is beautiful with no low end loss, powerfull and merciless with the mix.

Found this as well. Although I'm forgetting as I havn't touched and gear in over a month. Was on the road for November. Happy to be back home!

This makes total sense. I have almost always ran my BB with the gain around 1 to 2 o'clock. Its so beefy and raunchy. I love it there. Maybe I should try it as an OD. I may or may not be able to get rid of a couple things if I do that ;)

I havent really once thought about selling mine. I like it a lot and its got such a unique and raunchy flavor. Ive really found ways to utilize it in my band so it will be staying for a bit yet. I wasnt expecting a massive fuzz or an OD out of it, so I pretty much got what I expected because it can do OD to almost fuzz and the stuff in between very well. It just loses itself in the mix the higher in gain you go.

Try it from 9-10:30. It's heavy, adds a "crispness" to other effects feeding it, and still retains all the articulation. Right now, I've got it after my "new" DOD 250. The 250 gives a great vintage sound, the BB a nice heavy, grindy sound solo. Together, they have plenty of bite, all the articulation, and lots of HEAVY! I always make sure my pedals sound good solo and with the pedals before/after them for maximum versatility. With just these two pedals, I can do lower gain doomy OD sounds, modern mid gain metal, and just "plain" (yeah, bad terminology!) heavy with both. Same with my fuzzes. Gamma OD is just vintage OD, cutting some highs etc. Pharaoh is a mild fuzz (on my settings), but together, they make a very articulate, but heavy and mid focused fuzz sound that just rips. So I've got about 6-8 distinct flavors I use with only 4 pedals, and that doesn't even count the modulation/weird effects section on my looper, or the B3K after it when I bypass the loops. It's awesome!
