I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

People mention the mid-scoop...can the be somewhat mitigated by dialing back both the treble and bass and increasing the volume?

The mid-scoop is really in the ear of the beholder. I didn't notice one with mine, but I also keep a good amount of mids in my amp via the rotary controls and graphic EQ. I think a lot of the issue is the overly powerful nature of the bass control and high end sizzle of the treble and gain that I could see it playin' tricks on the ears. Especially if you don't have a fair amount of mids in your clean tone. All this aside, I don't remember who it was, I think Shuman, who tested the different frequencies of the pedal, and it showed no mid scoop at all.

Good to know! If the frequency analysis didn't show anything, then it should be a non-issue. I can see that definition gets lost at high gain, but I run parallel loops, so I'll likely have a little clean blend in there anyway.

I only sold mine because of the size. He announced the new smaller enclosure just 1 or 2 weeks after I got mine. So I flipped it in order to keep everything crammed on a smaller board.

Regarding it getting lost in the mix, it depends on the room for me (just like many other effects in my experience). Last night we were in a weird room where it disappeared - I tweaked it and had it mostly back by the 2nd verse. Other times, I have to dial it back to keep faces from melting. I try to sound check each "tone" for a gig, but sometimes like last night we couldn't.

Yes, i have the BB in Front of my B7k, sounds great and powerful, no mid issues for me, there is a lot of hate words on the BB, but the thing rip the mix en low gain settings so i love it. (i buy the BB just to add the rondent bites and do a perfect job)

If you turn the blend to the clean side the BB will be prominent and you turn the blend to right, the BK7 will rule the mix but keeping the rodent bites. its a great combination but, the rat sound is not for everyone. i dont use the gain on the BB past 9 or 10.
