I Present the IdiotBox Effects's Blower Box

Which order are they in? I'd put the Blower first, based on my gut and experience with the pedals independently.

Although the Blower treble control might be more helpful post B3k. Dial in a B3 sound you like and layer the blower over it. I can't recall, does the 3 have a clean blend? If so, I'd definitely put it first.

I have to say, there was a couple times I thought to sell my BB. It crossed my mind. But I'm glad I didn't. And I don't think I ever will. The more I use it the more I love it. What a great dirt box. It has this presence and inherent sag in it that makes it so unique. And with the John K fet boost I added to it, oh man it's just a winner. This baby's stayin for a while to come yet. There is a song my band does called bubble and it just makes the song sound so bad a** IMO. Such a yummy flavor the BB is.

A couple of my buddies give me s**t for having so much dirt on my board. But they're all there for a reason. The BB really compliments the parts of songs/songs I use it in. Besides, why not enjoy all the dirt I have?! There's room and I use dirt a lot :)

it just brings back the highs that the PL loses. I sold my first pork loin because it was too muddy for me, but bought a second one and modded it for no top end loss and I really dig it now.

Sorry if it's been covered already somewhere in these 62 pages but has anyone tried running two BlowerBoxes together?

I run the BB as a set-mild, always on dirt pedal, but I'd like to have the BB sound for a heavier, thicker distortion too. Curious if two play nicely with each other.

Idiotbox needs to make a Double Blowerbox.

Like!

Yeah I'm pretty sure someone here did that. I can't remember who though. If I'm correct, they said it was awesome!

Yes but it's a little much. I'm going to try it again with this new combo but will probably find it to be overkill again.
Found the BB to be a good fit with the Rumble 40. Were practicing in an even smaller garage now so small combo was needed. Don't use the overdrive with the pedal if I do it turns to mush.

Sometimes when I'm practising at home at low volumes, I find the BB a little too 'tinny', or it feels like not enough bass or low mids are coming through no matter how I tweak it. I can always get a good sound, but it doesn't seem to have "heft" at home, and I consider picking up another distortion pedal...

... then I plug it in at practise or a gig, and instantly wonder why I ever think of replacing it. Cranked up, through a decent large cab, it just makes the sound I want to hear. A the "low gain" setting, 9pm or so, it's that perfect grindy Rat-esque tone that I hear in my head when I think of distorted bass.

I usually use it with either a VT Bass or a Joyo American Drive as my pre-amp, and it works so well with both. It tends to get 'crispier' and has more treble with the Sansamp, but that's almost certainly the way I'm setting the pre. Still love this pedal.

I'm doing lots of low gain tweaking and stacking with other pedals, trying to dial in a direct recording tone I like and that inspires me to play direct. I live cab sounds and it just hasn't been the same going direct. I'm getting closer though. The way the highs break up and change with dynamics is showing me holes in my technique. May post clips to show what I'm aiming at if I get closer.

Try the Blowerbox with a Sansamp GT-2 sometime.

a little rough and nothing wild. My P into my BB and BBBOD boxes into a Genz 9.o. just to see how this stuff blends.

1st bass part = BB > BBBOD
2nd bass part layered on 1st = BBBOD only
3rd and 4th bass parts come in together with the lower line being BBOD only and the higher having a BB > BBBOD

i layered the tracks a little left and right to split the sounds and give some distinction.

the softer side of the BB; using it to add a bit of cut and grind.
