I rarely play a bum note....

Had a pick-up gig for a hour slot in a worship gathering. We rehearsed the stuff getting the turnarounds, took notes on charts; good to go....At the gig, every note I played was wrong, the guitarist had a puzzled look, staring at his fret board. We were supposed to follow the keyboardist, but she didn't know that the previous group had changed the transposition on the keyboard. Ended up transposing the whole set on the fly, was tough for the 1st couple of tunes.

I used to call them "sober notes" because no matter how many drinks I'd had, a bum note would wake me right the eff up. Since I rarely drink these days, I grit my teeth and begin to question my dedication.
My last gig we ended up sitting around a bar for few hours before we went on. I had one too many and hit four bum notes that show. I usually stop once i hit the wrong note and jump right back in but still, no more drinking before shows. Im still beating myself up because i really do play most shows without hitting a bum note because im a perfectionist and i practice

But when I do, It's always in front of a mass of people in a bar, who, like all the koala's we play for, just don't give a crap...

*insert super funny Koala sitting in tree in the rain with meme "No Craps Given", that I can't seem to find*
