So, last night on the way to my gig... I bought an ATK300. 
I've been playing my MIA P bass for 2 years in a row with my current band, and I really felt like I wanted to get something new and different to try out.
While the P is perfect for what I do... 3 hours of blues and funky stuff a night... I've wanted to add a bass with an aggressive active sound to my arsenal for quite some time.
I borrowed my buddies SR5 and jammed with that for a while... but I wasn't in love with it, or the price tag that they carry... so the search continued.
I tried out the ATK last month at a local store and was totally blown away by the feel of the bass. The string tension was great and the feel of the neck was top notch.
Finally after weeks of deciding... I said screw it... and bought it!
The electronics on the bass are extremely versatile... you really can go from a P sound to a J sound to a MM sound... However, the attack setting is by far the most fun!
I bought it at 8pm... was set up and playing by 930... and we finished at 2am. I was probably insane for playing a new bass totally cold like that... but amazingly, the feel is VERY similar to the P bass. I had ZERO trouble adapting.
This morning I weighed the ATK in... because I know people have complained about their weight... but fear not... both my MIA P bass and the ATK came in at 10.2 pounds.
I opened up the control plate to see what was going on in there and I found an extremely well organized compartment. Not only were all the cables neatly tied together, but the cavity is shielded with black shielding paint!
Like everyone else has said, turning the treble up bass half produces some noise... but it's not that bad, nor would you ever need to turn the treble up on this monster!
For the price... I say go for it. It's a total riot of a bass!

I have the all-natural ATK700 and love the birdseye maple fretboard. The thing is dead quiet with the treble up all the way; I think there's an adjustment you can make for output inside (see related threads) but mine is plenty loud enough. Really well built; don't know what advantages it has over the 500 but I love it.
