It doesn't look very original at all. Nor does it look like a real Gibson LP bass. But its $30 so its No big deal and hard not to pass up for even just the parts. And if it works then good for me haha

*EDIT:
The guy says its from a storage auction so I'm not sure about much else.

I agree. I feel like the tuners give it away. Gibson looks hand painted. I don't think I have ever seen a Gibson with a PJ set up... I don't look at a lot of Gibson basses.

Yeah its fading. Normally Its a sticker I think. And the headtock is more like a Grabber II but the dots are tiesco like. I think it was just a home made thing cause I haven't a clue what it is.

... Or he's playing the CL/kijiji bullshizzle game to draw a higher offer out of you. But yeah, that's definitely not a 200$ bass.
He was convinced that he was gonna get a high valuation for it. I was thinkin to myself I'm not willing to pay more than $30 for something that the guy knew nothing about probably was fake and spent its life beat up in a storage container. I'd like to save it but if he wants to put a higher price tag on it I'm sure some poor sap will buy it. Otherwise he's got my number

The headstock looks "grabber"ish... the body looks "les paul"ish... the neck, P pups look garage installed.... dunno...

I have a feeling that it's much worse off than indicated in the photos.

I would consider that $30 well kept.

Personally, I like the look of it quite a bit and it'd be a decent modding platform! That being said, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I've got a decent amount experience behind me. So I would feel comfortable working on it. But at that price is not worth my time or my money. I'll keep the pictures for my next build. who knows I might design a bass around it. I like the triangular headstock in that body.

The p pickup is so close to the neck that I'm surprised the maker didn't just install a fret in it. Also, I doubt that bass plays at all. If the person who threw it together doesn't know how to position pups, I doubt they know how to wire them, just saying.

I'd rock that for $30! Let me know when you want to sell it! I'll take it off your hands!!
