You know, I’m close to agreeing with you on that solo, but as that was an overdub, I would have been content to just be a fly on the wall during that session. That got me to thinking…while I realize this is all a fantasy, if one was to have actually played bass on a particular track, wouldn’t that alter history in some manner? You wouldn’t necessarily play the same thing.Moonage Daydream. Quite literally so I could stand next to Ronno during the lead, which happens to be the greatest guitar lead ever.
My serious answer would be playing Darryl Jones’ bass part on Sting’s ‘Bring On The Night’ live recording. Omar Hakim on drums and Kenny Kirkland on piano… dream scenario!!
