IK TONEX pedal

Just read through that thread at TGP and looked at his amp offerings. If they live up to the levels people are reporting I’ll probably be buying 5for3 during the April sale. Those look great, and I love his reported care and attention to detail. Can’t wait to try them tonight.

I was playing with my Tonex using some of the guitar amps that came stock (I haven’t loaded the pedal with bass amps yet) and was able to very quickly find a great tone for my 30” fretlesses with tape wounds. Truly a thing of beauty. I was very surprised how good it sounded both through headphones and a QSC Powered PA cab. Can’t wait to have time to dig deeper. Life has been very busy the past few months. Hopefully it’s letting up.

I'm still very happy with the Tonex platform. I'm sticking with Amalgam captures exclusively so far, and still waiting for his bass amp captures. He has stated on his forum that he will get to them, but he's a busy guy. In the meantime, I played around with using his Fender Bassman captures for bass guitar and even though the amp and mics were tweaked for guitar during the captures, they work quite nicely with bass.

I’m in the same boat. I have all the amalgam captures and have been giving him feedback we need some bass amp captures. Still love mine. I play guitar as well as bass (though I fancy myself a strong bassist and a hack of a guitarist), and I’m loving it on guitar as well. So much so it’s inspiring me to play a lot more guitar.

Also I picked up a simplifier bass station recently, which I love, and will be doing some captures of it to use in the Tonex so I can pull up different settings with my midi scenes.

Dang! That's actually a deal breaker for me.

I hate carrying extra pedals and gear around and really only ever use a tuner. I've been using a Zoom B1 Four as my tuner (and LOVE it for that), but the FX kinda suck, so I never really use them. I'm looking to upgrade my tuner now with a pedal that would be a bit more useful :) .

Thanks. I'll wait, or shop some more.

I have a tonex on my guitar board, but to replace my ms60b, it's going to have to have a tuner. I want one pedal for bass, not a board. Why? cause that's what I actually gig with. At home, i can noodle with my guitar with endless pedals and effects, but on my bass I want to limit the stuff I need to bring to the gig and limit what can go wrong. That said the tonex really sounds great.

Thanks. I feel a little less alone now :) .

If anyone should find themself asking if the Tonex pairs well with a Bergantino IP - It does!

Holy smokes!

Access to an endless amount of amps - This made my live rig consist of 1 pedal (Tonex) and my IP cab.

I will be capturing my Matamp GT120 later this month for all you 'stoner' fans.

+1 for needing a tuner. There's just no reason to not include one, honestly. Everybody needs a tuner and it's obviously got the processing power to do so. Seems like a total brain fart to not include it.
They added a tuner to the Tonex plugin after so many users asked for it, and I'm assuming they can add it to the pedal with a firmware update, but I'm not sure how we would be able to activate it without going through menus or adding an external footswitch. Maybe something like a 2 second hold on one of the switches?
