Do it. And start an 80's metal cover band, so you have a place to really play it well. Some of my friends did it, got wigs and clothes and pointy guitars. Although, they're all in their 20s....

I'm 42 years old.Do I have the right to like/want one of these axes??
Lately,I've been wanting an 80's/hair metal-type of bass.You know,a body-style that I could use for a murder weapon,wicked airbrush paint.You know,really L-O-U-D looking.Is this the age where a mid-life crisis starts for us guys???
Opinions??Am I just an old salt wanting to re-live my past?

Hey, Mr Midlife Crisis: a pointy headstock Charvel is cheaper than a Maserati, & a lot less trouble than a 22 year old girlfriend. Go for it...enjoy!!!
Ummm... all things being equal, I'd go with the 22 year old girlfriend and put up with the trouble
But that's just me.
I'd say if you 42 and need to ask then you probably don't have the right. Sorry!
