Im definitely an alternative lifestyle type of person.



Most outrageous thing youve ever done?

Hmm, had sex in a department store bedroom display in down town Sacramento during business hours when I was young dumb and full of c.... I have no idea how we got away with it. ( man I hope my older kids don't read this !! )

Do you like to fly?

Ive flown twice. Once to Maui, and then again back to LA. I enjoyed it.



Whats the longest flight youve ever taken?

6-7 hours. I was on a first class flight to Portugal when I was about 12 years old.

Would you ever play a keytar?

I dont like the idea of a keytar, though Id give one a try. I do play some synth.



How many instruments, excluding bass, can you play fairly well?

I pretend I play piano. I am constantly surround by them since I sell a bunch of keyboards.. 71 on display to be exact. I have not really progressed to much over the last 3 months of noodling on them. Other than that, instruments I play and play well become very different categories.


How often do you edit your posts to fix grammatical and spelling errors?

Why do you ask? What have you heard?? Who's been talkin' ???
I have honestly gone back and edited a post I made a year before ( and it was at the risk of necroing a post long dead ) to fix a typo. I'm kinda obsessed.

Do you use google to figure out the correct spelling of something before you post?

Yes, I am guilty.. I type it in the quick search bar located at the top left. When mobile, I rely on auto correct. When auto correct fails... I then type directly into google.. I hate how google knows all my interests and insecurities now.... It could easily school me on a spell contest with just a few choice words...

Why did you pick your current career / field of study?

It chose me. Nothing in my formal education prepared me to write software, or teach people how to do it, but I seem to be doing a good job of it.

Never had one, but Ive always liked Japanese Bonzai trees, those or Cherry Blossom trees.



Do you watch Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia?

No. I don't watch TV, except some food network stuff with my wife and son.
And it's not always sunny in Philly. Not even close. I grew up there.

What are your favorite East coast US, West coast US, and international cities?

Lived in Ridley Park PA as a kid ( My dad was born and grew up there ) so east coast going with that. I lived in Soquel ( about 3 miles from Santa Cruz ) but will instead go with Capitola They have Mr Toots. It is enough for me. International, I really liked Heidelberg Germany when I was there. The buildings and such were very cool. The people were rocking too.

Have you ever been across the pond?

Several times - twice as a kid, and 4-5 times as an adult.
Spent 3 weeks in Italy (1/2 teaching, 1/2 vacationing). A week in Germany at an Eskrima camp - stopped in the UK to train on my way over. Went to Copenhagen, and to India, to teach.
The Germany trip was funny - we trained hard the whole time, and I didn't do other traveling. "How was Germany?" "Well, the sports center where we trained was really, really good, and the beer was excellent."

What's your favorite spot in the world - the place that is your "special" place?

Different Day, same results

[DEL]It was the beaches along PCH , just pick one, but any more they are just SO full of people. It's hard to get time alone and get some deep thought on. The only place I get that now is the top of Browns Mountain in Desolation Valley. It's starkly beautiful, untouched and usually unpopulated. [/DEL]

Have you ever been to Desolation Valley?

Never been to Desolation Valley, but I did read Kerouac's "Desolation Angels" which I believe has something to do with the area.
Also, down in SoCal, there are still some beaches off of PCH that are not overrun with people. One of my favorite spots is down in Laguna.
