Your doing it right. Go into the effect return from the io dock out to bypass the amps pre. Go into the main input to use as fx only. Both use the bass plugged into the io dock input.

When I use my iOS rig with my amp, I go right into the front end of the amp, stacking preamps.
My amp has a pre gain that I can adjust to keep things under control if needed, but I've yet to have any problems. I know it isn't technically "right" to do this, but my amp is normally only for me to monitor so it doesn't bother me. I split my signal to the PA before it hits my amp anyway, so the FOH gets pure Jamup (and very soon, BIAS).

Interesting, will definitely be checking it out when it comes out but I'm yet to use my rig live much so I'll be sticking with the blueboard for now, also Jamup need to sort their midi implementation so I can independently turn on and off a fuzz or an overdrive.

Metal that's about it unless you count the 1/8th audio link to the ipad suppose it's handy to have a live backup

My son Aiden is now an iOS musician!! Just set him up with an old iRig we found behind the piano (was lost for quite a while) and Jamup on his 3GS (Mom's old phone, strictly a toy since she upgraded).
He's loving it. I don't have the heart to tell him how much better the Apogee sounds. Lol.

I like the metal case, sturdy switches, etc.
But I got a little weirded out once I realized that it actually has an instrument input and effects loop.
Don't I remember reading that Bluetooth has some latency issues?
Looks like a nice sturdy board.

It shouldn't interfere with the digital dock.
I can't use it with my iPhone 4 or iPad 2

....Maybe I'm just being too optimistic.

- Built-in iOS link for plug and play audio interface
- Optimized for active/passive pickups for both guitar and bass
The way I read this is that it's an audio interface over BT. This means that the Lightning/30 pin jack will be open for the charger. Since the iPhone and Touch battery won't last the whole night, you can actually use an iPhone and Touch for gigs lasting more then an hour or so.
I already have the Blueboard and I'm very pleased with it. However, with the addition of this pedal, I can leave the iO Dock (used to charge the iPod Touch while gigging) and Sonic Port (used when I'm not using the iPad for chord charts) at home and still have an interface that allows me to use my smaller iOS device for 4-5 hours.
If all this is true, I'm in. I'll have an interface AND up to 11 foot switches. Nice!!!! Dream Rig, here I come. Although, I am concerned about possible lag playing live.
Still... Did I mention I'm pretty excited about this possibility?

For iPad users I'll mention that the Griffin I/O recharges while in use. I LOVE this feature. You sit down to play for a few hours and then look up and you're at 100%!

All the Griffin I/O devices I've seen use the mic and headphone jack. Do they make one that goes into the Lightning/30-pin that allows for a charger and instrument I/O?
The only device that I've seen that will charge and interface at the same time, through the Lightning/30-pin connection, is the iO Dock. Does someone make something smaller?
On a side note, now I'm looking for an app that will allow me to use my iPad to control JamUp on my 5th gen Touch. The Touch is plenty powerful enough for live use (in my opinion), but the screen is way too small to make tweaks on the fly.

The Griffin I/O I have uses the 30 pin and recharges. It went on sale at Sweetwater for $40 because the new ones came out that use the Lightning connector.
