Anyone have recommendations on what to get in Jamup beyond the two bass packs? Do most of the effects work well with bass (or at least as good as the pedal they are modeled after anyway)?

Hiway 103 amp is great for crunchy bass tone. Ola chorus, LA2 comp, the envelope filter/ Q Tron, para EQ
I'm pretty sure I bought a few packs on sale a while ago.
I don't know about any future sales.
I bought it on sale the other day and haven't cracked into it yet but I plan to soon.
I've been trying to use AmpKit+ and JamUp piped into Auria together via Audiobus
but there's an audible latency to the headphones.
I'm gonna try a few things including trying Cubasis instead of Auria at the output and turning some things off and see if that cures it.
I have a 3rd gen iPad so I shouldn't be out of bits.
The CPU meter in Auria doesn't show heavy usage.
It'll all be different next week anyway.
If you use Audiobus and Auria choose 512 on the buffer size in Audiobus
I've yet to find any pedals/amps in Jamup that don't sound good for bass.
My personal favorites are the Ola Chorus, the Loomis Overdrive, the Tron (addicted to this pedal), and the generic overdrive pedal. I didn't expect much from it but it sounds very nice on bass.
I also really like the reverse delay pedal, and the red comp.
Most of the pedals have a really wide range of adjustment, and if they suck out the low end, there are ways of minimizing it.
I did that, it's still like pushing the notes thru an air pillow or something...
It's a bit annoying. If it was much worse, it would be unusable.
I'm gonna work my way thru the menus today and see what else I can fiddle with and/or turn off.
I've been able to get most everything in JamUp to produce at least one good to great sound.
The envelope toys can stand a bit of work, but they're usable.
I'm not really a fuzz/distorto guy for bass so I won't editorialize on those.
I'd rather torture a small amp model and blend it.
As mentioned over the last couple of days, the LA is really useful. I have it in every patch.

The Ashdown is very deep, can be gritty and thunderous. Compares to the SVT it lacks mids and easy to become boomy. The Trace is very focused and have this modern tone.
This is what I got. Bought both bass packs and the Pro upgrade when it was on sale. Then I got the Effect bundle. All the other stuff is not of use to me as its mostly guitar gear.
Those 4 add-ons are what made the most sense to me from a bass players point of view. I also got enough guitar gear in there that I have some stuff to show a guitarist if they are interested in the idea of using iOS as a rig.
One guitar amp in particular could be extremely useful for metal bass tones, especially if you are going to use audiobus and another app to run dual amps. The Treadplate sounds insane with a bass but you do need to have a way to blend back in some lowend signal. But what that amp does to the mid/top end of a bass will strip paint from the walls!
If you already have the first bass pack from JU then I would suggest getting the Trace amp. It sounds incredible, especially for pick or slap lines. It can get dirty but its also super clean and punchy and would work great as the clean end of a dial amp set up.
Just out of curiosity, anyone from Agile or Positive Grid still actively watching this thread? It's been a long time since anyone has chimed in at all.
It's not iOS, but there are a few of us that also run desktop/laptop apps and I just wanted to throw out a few things I stumbled on in the last few days that a killer if you use a desktop DAW.
This bass amp sounds INCREDIBLE and better than anything I've heard yet, desktop, iOS or other... I wish this was a real bass amp because I'd buy in in a heartbeat -

I picked up a couple that work better than others; were I to suggest only one, it would be the LA2 comp.
I assembled all the effects through sales and 2 for 1's. All have their place and some are just plain fun to noodle with.
Had a lot of fun at the gig last night, and ran a new patch into the mix for my 5-string Jazz strung with roundwounds. Threw a 700RB into the mix and dialed it for a wee bit of overdrive. Sounded fantastic. Then I through my 4-string jazz with 2 and a half year old Chromes through it and it sounded pretty good too. Still not sold on using it with the flats vs. my Acoustic patches, but with the rounds, it sounds really awesome.
Was a long night (left at 5pm, drove 2 hours, soundchecked, gigged, drove home got in at 3AM), but at least I feel it was productive on a few different levels.

Exactly what I am looking for, I know I will like the LA2 as I have it in my Zoom b3 and I want the tron and probably a few others.

They usually run them for a week at a time. Check the bundles. Nothing on sale right now that I've noticed yet, but I only need two more expansions and its maxed.
Lately, someone or another has been sharing sale info for various iOS music apps in this thread ( or predecessors )
I know I try to post the deals if I see them...
Check in-app every week, watch this thread as anyone that notices something and posts here regularly tries to let everyone know - ALSO - watch their Facebook page as they make all announcements over there and that is probably the best way to not miss a sale.
