I've been calling for that...

Running JamUp and AmpKit together is pretty cool too, other than a bit of latency that I still need to track down and dial out.

Hopefully this will be less of a problem after iOS 7 and a few more app upgrades.

After further experimenting, using JamUp and AmpKit+ both in the input of Audiobus
piped into Cubasis seems to have low enough latency ( or none ) to be usable for me in realtime.

Auria still seems a bit laggard in this configuration, but I could track with it, probably.

If I put either modeller in the effect slot of Audiobus then things get really pillowy... :rollno:

I need to try some other apps like EchoPad in the effect slot and see what's up.

Looking good so far.

Great minds think alike. I just popped over to mention this, but I see that you beat me to it.

The instructions show how to hook it up to an iPad via the CCK.

Acts as an octave of MIDI bass pedals, with pressure and tilt sensitivity so you can do swells, wah effects etc., just by toeing the pedals. Can also work as a fully programmable MIDI pedalboard.

Has a MIDI expansion port and an expression pedal jack.

Built for road use, and less than $300. Looks like a really interesting option...

I'm intrigued by those pedals as well. For my style of playing, it would be awesome to have a synth hit the low notes when I play up higher.

I'm not sure about dual functionality, though. It seems to be either/or, not both. I need a preset switching system/midi footcontroller in one.

I'm probably dreaming, or am gonna end up with a mess at my feet!

So.... Ummmmm....

What do you do if you need to charge while using an instrument interface? This is where that Lightning/30-pin splitter would com in handy.

I wonder if I could make a dongle that would allow me to tap into the power conductors in a lightning cable. Someone must have done something like that, or proven it can't work, by now. It's got to be in the internet, floating around, somewhere. I'm off to dig around.

Ok, so I just had an interesting experiment.

I used four apps total.

First, my normal Jamup bass tone;

Here's the fun part: Using Arpeggionome, I created a custom arpeggio. Then I assigned it to trigger Sunrizer, so it would play a string sound.

Then, using Midimorphosis, tied it all together. What I'm left with is my bass tone triggering a string section to play an arpeggio, which changes in real time with my bass.

Yeah, I've crossed over into the deep end. :)

This is from the Audiobus folks...

Hi folks,

We're on the cusp of iOS 7, and we're here to urge caution: If you rely on music apps, please don't update yet.

iOS 7 audio is not ready. There are a wide variety of bugs that are causing performance problems, crashes and other problems in a large number of music apps.

This may change in the future, but until we see a few point releases for the OS, we strongly urge you to stick with iOS 6.

I for one would never update to a new OS on any device until it's been out for several weeks - but if you are an early adopter, you've been warned :D

I tried running my Ric 4003 via Rick-O-Sound into both inputs on the Apogee One. It really did not like having the phantom powered DI and the instrument plugged into the same bass. I ran out of 9V so I'm grabbing some on the way home tonight to try again without power from the One. I just realized I could also run out of my PF350 to the mic channel so that would work too.

In this case I was using PocketGK on the neck pickup and Jamup on the bridge, but two copies of Jamup would be awesome.

I don't know didley about using Twitter except via the API embedded in a program but I will see about getting them feedback on this.

I'm impressed with Sonic Port and Mobile POD, but...

I'm looking for more bass specific stuff from Jamup. Would you choose expansion 1, or expansion 2? Or would you choose another app altogether? I'm leaning toward 2... It appears to have more jazz/rock/blues rigs, but I thought I'd see what others thought.

BTW, thanks for the help, all. My iPad rig is coming together brilliantly.

Both, if at all possible! I do tend to stick with the SVT or B-15 90% of the time though, so 1 would be my choice if I was strapped for cash.

But the minute they add a Bass Expansion 3, I'll be buying that regardless of what's actually in it ;)
