If you are hearing an audible echo or reverb...that should not be there, only what you put in it with the amp settings or effect pedal settings.

Nothing that i know about is adding it but the base program, I went back to Amplitube to check what I was hearing and I stand by what I said. Mostly notice it on the lower notes. I will try another bass and see if anything changes...
Amplitube with a digital input piece(Apogee Jam or Line6 Mobile In) is pretty damn good sounding IMO, gets rid of the noise of the iRig.
Thanks for the info, fixed that issue! Another question: Where are the rest of the amp controls? B-15 only has volume, bass and treble? tried swiping at the screen to go left or right for those other controls, but no dice...

Remember, to boost the mids you simply CUT the bass and treble. If you need more tone shaping than that, you're using the wrong amp!!

It's also worth noting that you are not bound to the restrictions of the real equipment. In other words, you don't have to worry about blowing up the amp by connecting the wrong pedals or whatever, so experiment. If it takes two compressors and an EQ plus the amp to get your tone, there's nothing wrong with that.

Well, thanks to reading all 33 pages of this thread, I spent $50 last night...
I picked up JamUp Pro, the bass pack, MultiTrack DAW, AudioBus and Drum Loops HD. I'll probably be picking up Loopy HD today.
I've been using a Line 6 Mobile In and it works great with the setup above with my 4S phone. I also have an iPad 1, and my wife has an iPod 3, so if mine seems overworked, I'll just use hers.
The Multi In 30 pin connector works great with the Petersen tuner. I have a Polytune Mini on my Pedaltrain Mini, but the Petersen for my virtual rig.
I had an iRig when those first came out and never liked any sound I got out of it with active basses. I've used Amplitude, AmpKit, Mobile POD and was unsatisfied with all of them and their bass support. JamUp Pro sounds great and works great with all of my Bongos.
So, thank you all for the suggestions. I finally feel like I can use my ipad and iphone for recording in the way that I have wanted since I first started grabbing apps.

The B15 on Jamup is based on the old B15 which has Baxendal tone control thus it is only bass and treble. In order to boost mids cut both bass and treble. The B15R on Amplitube is based on a the newer B15R which has more controls. So no real comparison as these amps are not identical.
So I am now the proud owner of the Alesis IO dock. I bought jam up, audio bus and multitrack dw. Jam up will take care of my practice needs, as the jam function is killer. I loved the key change feature, as I hate practicing to songs written in E flat and having to switch basses to play along. It was really transparent. The Io dock itself is pretty cool, although my ipad 3 would not connect for a while. After playing around with it and scratching my head it suddenly chirped and has been connecting fine since. I played with multitrack and I really like its simplicity. I can go straight from jamup into multitrack without audio bus. I'm not sure if I really even needed audio bus actually. I may get a drum machine next. I'm used to the old Boss drum machine unit, so any suggestions for one that I might find easy to work with that would have some good metal and rock drums to record with into multitrack would be nice. Can you go straight from a drum machine into multitrack?

I have a friend that sends me mp3s of his new songs for me to learn. If he sent me a copy without bass, what would I use to lay down my bass track? It would be playing an iTunes song, using the jamup amp and recording to multitrack?
Over all I am happy with the alesis even though I'm guessing its soon going to be discontinued due to the lightning connector. It sounds clean, has more ins and outs than I will ever use, and charges my iPad. I doubt I'll use it live, but you never know. I'm already scared to show up to a gig with just a DI as I mostly play bar gigs with questionable PA.

Get Audiobus, it is almost a must and it will solve all your questions.
Get DM1 drum machine, it is has Audiobus support.
Now laying down bass to mp3?
Simple, run Audiobus with Jamup in the input slot, MT DAW in the output slot, in MT DAW you import the mp3 into one track. The record your bass to a new track, simple!
Btw, if you like the Blueline tone, why not use it live

I fell so much in love with my Jamup presets that I started using it in my live setup. My iPhone 4S clips to my mic stand and runs to a DI box at my feet. From there the signal is split between my amp and the FOH.
It is hands down the BEST bass sound I've EVER had through the PA, and it makes my tiny combo amp sound great, too!!

Well, lately I do, because I'm playing with a LOUD drummer. My amp is nothing more than a powered monitor, though. Every speaker that pumps out my bass has Jamup attached. I actually played through the B15 (Jamup) yesterday at practice and it sounded great, after I tamed the farting low end.
I tried Jamup/Audiobus/Remaster but the latency was too much to use it live. I'll give it another try after some tweaking.
I've managed to get the latency pretty low before by restarting my iPhone an closing all apps, then using airplane mode. Unfortunately, when you crank things up, the little nuances start to show themselves, and the latency is just too much.
I always wandered why drummers tend to be so load, at least this is a typical comment I read everywhere.
I've didn't played with many drummers, and not sure actually what is a load drummer.
Is Mike Portnoy a load drummer? Carl Palmer? Or is somebody like Ulrich a load drummer?
I've always liked to listen to drummers such as Phil Collins which to me seem to play very fluid where the stroke comes from the wrist. Other drummers such as Ulrich seem to play more like a "baboon", thus use all the arms and upper body. Does not seems to be very effective way!
Btw Rip, listened a bit to Sabbath. Not bad! The bass player tone and style reminds me a bit of Harris.

Yeah, a loud drummer is definitely the guy who plays with his entire upper body, pretty much trying to pound the things into the floor.

I've not heard much Sabbath, but on some early tunes/ recordings Geezer had this same type of attack/ treble clank to his note, so my first thought was, sound like Harris!
Why do you not use you IEM to hear yourself? You will hear the drummer through your IEM anyway.

The main reason that I'm not using IEM right now is that I don't have a body pack with a built in limiter. The last thing I want is a loud blast of feedback going through my ears when someone turns the wrong knob.
When we play out, I'll be figuring out a way to keep the volumes under control so it doesn't become a problem. Right now I'm just trying to let everyone get their volume issues out of their systems so we can start to turn down and sound better.

You could split the signal from your iPhone/ DI box, send part of it back to your IEM and part of it to the PA. I meant that you have only your bass in your IEM.
Yeah, I've got a separate mixer that I can use for the "more me" function, but without a limiter I'm at risk from any crazy feedback or peaks that are caused by careless band members.
No thanks. I've already got hearing damage from IEMs. Someone tripped over the network cable going to my Aviom while I was playing at church two years ago. There was a LOUD pop through my IEMs and I've still got nasty distortion when things gets loud, even just voices at home. Not cool.

Hmm, I do not have distortion due to load sounds.... only constant sustained high note/ notes...... I'm not that fond of that guitar player in my head playing this sustained solo with this very thin high pitched notes. Very boring solo!!
Must be weird and a bummer to have this distortion issue due to loud sound, certainly for a guy like you who likes loud music, but I guess it is quite OK to cope with as it is quite otherwise.
