After I've been working two nights I'm actually not sure which is easier, the DAW or the GB!
I really like both. The GB lack automation, the DAW have some more automation and lack of full automation is the only real weakness of the MT DAW.
One thing is sure, both the DAW and GB are great. The MT DAW is the best DAW out there for the money, while nothing beats the GB for its price!
Duke if GB had track automation it would be amazing I get around that by doing two tracks side by side and doing volume changes and then bouncing the two tracks together.
Also I have two separate drum tracks on the one I had just posted. One track with a smart drum beat and the other for accents and for fills done with the midi drum set. Then blend the two together. With velocity changes.
Anybody have any idea as to how I could go about connecting my multitrack recorders output with my iPad? I'm using a Roland vs880(very old I know) and I have an irig, I would get the alesis idock but its not compatible with the lighting adapter and I'm saving up for a computer right now and don't want to waste money on the itrack solo.
What i had tried was running it through GarageBand but I got too much feedback which I could reduce a little bit of but I'm just looking for a solution to get me by for a month or so.

I have a VS880EX myself!!
The bad news is that with the iRig you just won't get a usable signal into the recorder. I've tried and it just doesn't like the VS's preamps at all.
Now you could use a Y cable with the right adapters to hook your recorders output to the iPad, but it would require an interface that will handle stereo, and that isn't the iRig.
I wish I could give you better news.
The iRig was a fine interface to start with home practice, but feedback, crosstalk and hiss are 3 problems which are very difficult to compensate for.
+1, and there's no way I'd try hooking up a mixer through iRig.
Now I have tried using Jamup INTO my Roland VS. The VS's preamps just didn't play nicely at all. Distorted input and the levels were a really PITA to get set right, in the end I gave up. The Roland VS (i have the EX version with the dual effects processors) has some awesome effects built in, and if I don't use the VS, I can use MTDAW.
Aw man, I guess ill have to wait till I get a Mac soon! I can't say I expected to hear much different from what you're sayin, but thanks for the comments. I also have the EX version, and the dual fx processor is indeed very useful.

Off topic guys..sorry...is there a consensus of what is the best music stand/holder to hold an iPad4? Do you guys use a holder that clamps on a mic stand, or did you buy one of the "all in one" packages?
I found a clip on Amazon that was half the price of the IK (iPhone) clip, and is much more adjustable.

So seeing as how the Alesis IO isn't really compatible with the iPad 4, what's the best option for getting MIDI into and 1/4" audio in and out of an iPad 4?
