I wonder if it will get to the day where a band shows up with a surround sound pa system and a bunch of ipads.

If the iPad is only being used as an organizational tool and other things (kind of like when I used to plug in my BassPot XT Live! into the computer), why not make a smaller version that had 1-2 stomps on it and allow the iPhone to be plugged into it? More people have that, and while it would be smaller, it would have a larger market already.

I was thinking about something like this as well.
I don't see why they couldn't use the iPhone or iPod touch to configure even a larger pedal board like the one made for iPad. The app would have to be intelligently made so navigating a big board on a small screen wouldn't be awkward, but that shouldn't be too difficult to work around.

No, have you even looked at the link? You put the iPad into some shell casing and there's additional hardware for the actual stomping. It's best to just have a look, I can't really explain it.
which are you using?
I looked and read the link. I'm going to have to see a youtube vid to get it. I just saw an ipad with the app and a real wah volume like pedal to the right if my eyes haven't failed me.
