Iron Ether Subterranea

Wow loving the demos guys! Two very different videos showcasing the same awesomeness.

I have to agree with Behndy that if fixing the voice bleed issue will change the tracking, sound or feel of the pedal, I would rather just deal with it. I have used it on over a dozen gigs now and never once did I even think about the voice bleeding over. I have gotten compliments and "I just pooped a little" faces very time I use it. Moog shmoog...

Moog shmoog indeed. I just got a Slim Phatty (not even a Sub Phatty) and it is amazing, HUGE BASS! I love me some pedals but I have converted to the buy a synth crowd (although it is fun to do synthy sounds on bass).

i emailed with taylor last week and just got this answer:
The Subterranea has a noise issue which we are working o ut. You can place an order now and we will ship once the noise issue has been fixed. The estimated build time is about 4 weeks right now.
i ordered a sub-t and a xero dlx yesterday - can't wait!

Just got my sub t today :) pretty awesome! I think I can live with the noiseyness. It's not horrible. Any suggestions on where to put it in my chain??

Edit: I JUST put it on my board, that's why it is where it is now. I have a mad prof blueberry coming later this week and I'm waiting until then to redo my board. I was thinking of putting the sub t first. Or after the OC2??

The Oc-2 maybe redundant now but if you keep it on there put it first so that you can start with a buffered circuit.

I like running the OC2 into the UniSynth voice on the SubT. Gives it a little different flavor. The tracking doesn't get wonky either. I love how many options I have right now!!!

Another week of gigs down, and every single sound-engineer complimented my effects tone. The guy who did our late night festival set on Saturday said something to the effect of "every time I've heard someone use pedals on bass, it just ends up sounding all mushy." he then when on to tell me how non-mushy my tone was and how much he loved the synth sounds. We chatted about my board for about 20 min at 4 am! He also said he took me out of the mains and just let my DB750>NV610 (the perfect clean tone/effects rig) carry the bass. Not bad for an outdoor deal with a couple thousand people there!

That's awesome, good stuff man. It makes a lot of our effects chasing and money worth while when you hear stuff that.

Has anyone had any issues with the sub t clipping your amp? This is a hot a** signal sender. I haven't tried it through my main rig so I'm just curious.

Yeah, I agree. We spend a lot of time and dough trying to reproduce the sounds in our heads, and you hear a lot of guys dissing effects usage for bass. I am a firm believer that if you do it right, be patient, and don't be afraid to get the good stuff (IE, Darkglass, 3 Leaf, [sfx], etc...), it will pay off. I have a great clean tone, but when I use my effects, the tone is very personal because I've put a lot of effort into creating my "signature sound". Fun stuff!

I haven't had any clipping issues, but I also haven't turned any of the voices up past noon either. Tons of boost in this guy!

Indeed there is tons of boost on tap.

Preach it brother! I'm proud of my tone and board and all the work I've out into. Pedals or not we all do what we do because we're passionate about it and like you said, want to get the sound in our heads out through the cab. However you do that is fine by me. No effects is straight too. I'm at a point in my playing career that all the effects I have work for me. It's awesome to set my board up before we go on at a gig and I get the bass player and even guitar player from the other bands usually stopping to check out my board. Now that's cool :) sound guys and the guy that recorded and engineered our most recent EP in my main band are always giving me compliments on my tone and the stuff in making come out of my cab. It's really fulfilling and makes me happy that people dig on it. Most of all me.

Can someone explain to me the logic in putting the OC-2 before the Sub-T? Are you only using the octave down on the OC-2? Isn't the Sub-T monophonic?
