Iron Ether Subterranea

I ordered it together with a xerograph deluxe. (its a filter, but is it an envelope? I'm not sure...)

Hey Noermaen - The Envelope is the knob marked "Sens" on the Xerograph Deluxe - turn that all the way CCW and it turns off the envelope entirely. Experiment moving the sens knob around to find out where it triggers as it is dependent on your pickups, other fx, etc.

VERY NICE demo mate, thanks! damn I can't wait to get it. Looks like it's going to boot the Frantabit out of my board.

How are you guys using the SubT + Xero with a fuzz? Fuzz -> SubT -> Xero or SubtT -> Fuzz -> Xero ?

Personally, I want the sound of the "Bass, all voices mixed, with Xerograph Deluxe" sample on the IE website!

Didn't try it yet but fuzz would likely come after any octave pedal since it needs a fairly pure signal to track well.

I received my SubT yesterday but I think it may have a problem. Already sent an email to IE :

The Octo Synth knob seems to produce a clean octave at a very low level (less than unity when maxed). Wave shapes and filter do not affect it.
The Octave knob seems to produce "octo synth" sounds. Wave shapes center and right sound the same, but left sounds different. Filter affects it (though the first half of the knob makes no audible difference).

noermaen's (very nice) demo sounds nothing like my pedal at the same settings :(

i think it really needs a "clean" playing / technique. no offending! maybe your pedal is really "kaputt" - but i know from my own experience - you have to give it a really clean signal - not fret noise, no "crappy" plugging, etc.

Octave-->Fuzz-->Filter is my preference.

That being said, the Subterranea produces enough harmonic content on its own that using fuzz into the filter becomes considerably less important. I'll usually only kick on my Oxide or Pickle Pie B if I want an especially filthtastic bass tone.

Did you that received your SubTs get a notification email that it had shipped? I'm asking because I ordered an Oxide a couple months back and it showed up on my door step a couple days ago with no email notification.

I'm expecting the SubT any day now. Ordered on Sept 17th.:bassist:

Thanks for the response. I just get paranoid when something like this is just left on the porch. The Oxide got here okay so I guess the SubT will too. I'm off work for the rest of the year so hopefully it'll show up while I'm here. Plus I'll have a lot of time to mess around if it gets here soon. The anticipation is killing me.

Mega bummer if there is something wrong. I'm sure Taylor will sort it out though.

I'd be interested to hear other peoples experience with the clean octave and filter. I don't really notice much of a change in tone from full CCW to the 12 bu then there's basically added harmonic content from that point on. Is anyone else getting usable differences in the first half
of the filter knob?

Cheers

Ben

The first half of the Filter knob's travel is definitely less noticeable, though I do hear a slightly tighter deep low end at the 12:00 position.

I'm in the same boat. I ordered around the same time you did and both my roommate and I are going to be gone for a while during the holidays so I hope it's not just sitting out front while we're gone.

Did he ship with FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHeLl, or someone else?
