Irreversible climate damage is imminent

Weather ≠ Climate

Is it really that hard to understand? I learned that in like elementary school.

Relax I'm just wanting some warm around here. I KNOW that the polar vortex is caused by rapidly melting icecap. I live a days drive to permafrost land.

Oh and Use that elementary education to be a critical thinker. Could you not see that maybe I'm pointing out that this might be a sign of climate change that it's still -15c here?

The ones who were caught fabricating data? Those scientists? LOL

Again, who to trust about "data fabrication," randoms on the internet, or peer-reviewed journal-published scientists who actually study the phenomenon?

There is no peer reviewing, minimum GPA, employer verification, sobriety test, or ability to chew gum and walk simultaneously that's been checked for anyone to start a blog on the internet. Even I could start a blog online. If this information was so easily refuted, why isn't there a recognized university up there pointing out studies supporting that? I don't see Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, Oxford, etc. publishing reports, it's always crackpots with a blog. You can't possibly be suggesting that there's collusion among academics as well as scientists, no? Grand conspiracy?

LOL no it never happens

Climate scientists estimate that global warming of 2C above pre-industrial levels marks the limit of safety, beyond which climate change becomes catastrophic and irreversible. Though such estimates are necessarily imprecise, warming of as little as 1.5C could cause dangerous rises in sea levels and a higher risk of extreme weather – the limit of 2C is now inscribed in international accords, including the partial agreement signed at Copenhagen in 2009, by which the biggest developed and developing countries for the first time agreed to curb their greenhouse gas output.

What if the IPCC report estimate of the Climate Sensitivity Equillibrium (CSE) at around 3.5 C is inaccurate and the more likely number is around 1.5 C? Can we call off the hysteria?

Clearly the bigfoot have you telepathically trapped.

Or the lack of Oxygen at the higher levels of the space elevator has gone to your head, fine sir.

Does this mean I can say whatever I like about Metalbasspro now? Oh boy, oh boy this is gonna be great.

Evolution of a climate change denialist argument:

Global Warming is a hoax
Global Warming is happening but it's not our fault.
Global Warming is happening and it's our fault, but it's actually not that bad.
Global Warming is happening and it's our fault, and it's bad but there's nothing we can do about it.
Global Warming is happening and it's our fault, and it's bad but it will be too expensive to do anything about it.

 :rollno:

You don't have to be a denialist to think there's nothing we can do about it. While many credible people have presented good evidence it's happening, I don't know of any credible people who have said that it can be reversed. As a matter of fact, no one knows whether it's reversible (assuming it's happening).
