when i was a youngster i would take my stereo speakers and place them facing each other,with my head in the middle and put on lazy,crank the volume a fair bit, lie back shut my eyes and take the ride......one of DP,s best..:thumbsup:

That is Robert Plant and his songwriting capabilities proven. When Zep were not stealing lyrics their attempts at songwriting were woeful. Go and take a listen to Zep lyrics, they are garbage and don't make any sense whatsoever. This is another reason why Purple are way better than Zep, especially when it comes down to lyrics and songwriting.

Haaa.. Come on Brother, lighten up! Big Log is a classic number That lyric surely has a meaning that ties into the in some way! It's just expressed in a metaphor that lm not clever enough to recognize.. lol That's called creative expression and good writing! There are countless rock and roll songs with nonsensical lyrics though. You can probably make a thread for it and get responses for two months.

I think I remember seeing an interview that Plant said when he heard the Page play the acoustic part of Stairway for the first time, he wrote all the lyrics to the slow section in one go.. That's pretty good for a singer or a poet!

Im pretty sure l figure out what big log means. That was an easy one! ;)

Led Zeppelin are sexier, bluesier, and folkier... their music has the groove, the pull, and it's interesting and elegant.They're so cool and I gotta say I like ALL their albums, which is something that I can't say for almost any rock band (actually, now that I think about it, could it be they're the only ones I can say this for? wow... )

I totally love Black Sabbath, but the "right" black sabbaths...meaning from the very beginning until Mob Rules with Dio...and then a big jump until 13th, which I really dig.
The stuff in between, Nah.
But in their right albums they created a sound and an impact that I still love completely, and the lines of Butler are one of my main inspirations on the bass and reasons why I picked the instrument in the first place.

As for Deep Purple, kinda same story in the sense that I love the really good albums by them (and they're not many but still) and the masterpiece Live in Japan, and that's it.

But one thing is for sure, Ritchie Blackmore is amazing, and what he did with Deep Purple and in Rainbow (first three albums with Dio) is golden.

rofl! I just watched a few spy movies the other day and am now having fun imagining
-what conspiracies’ actions they could have been executing while on tour or in the studio
-What other bands and publicly known organisations would be part of their syndicate
-would there have been bands that were part of competing or contrary syndicates against whom they were taking action?
