Is everyone okay??

To seriously answer the question, things are pretty good, overall. I have good bands to work with; musically I'm not carrying a whole lot of baggage. The personal front is always challenging, for reasons best left unstated. But I make peace with things in the ways I can.

Materially speaking, I have more than I could have ever dreamed I'd ever have. So I'm good.

Material can only extend so far at times. We can't control when we get low. I don't mean musically, here. Haha. I also need to apologize. I was not aware that you are in fact, a *sister*.

I had french toast , bacon and good coffee for breakfast while watching CBS Sunday Morning. The world is a fine and sunny place!

To prepare the french toast, I used the 1950's "mid century modern" GE griddle I inherited from my mom. I did a lot of scrubbing to get the griddle surface so clean, but it works fantastic!

That's freaking awesome!

BTW you know you're not escaping this thread without telling us what you've plastered the Imperial Galactic Empire logo onto back there...

I am doing well.eating right and getting plenty of rest.Meditation and exercise helps with the worlds day to day horsepiss. Thanks very much for asking.Very thoughtful. How are you?

I spat out a little bit of coffee when I read the word 'horsepiss', so technically, you just made my morning better and slightly messier

Hey, gang.

I'm usually cheery, coming at ya with the exclamation points in abundance. But I've been noticing a lot of "Old man yells at cloud" type situations arising across the forums as of late. I mean, even more than normal. I just wanted to take a few minutes to check in with you all.
I had to quit working to take care of my mom after she had a stroke. This after 45 years of gigging.

It has been challenging, to say the least. I really miss being a musician and playing with other people, but that can’t be helped.

I’ve been reading a bit of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations lately, to try and gain some perspective.

No.

The last several years have worn me right down to a frazzle, and a lot of days I don't want to leave the house, I just want to keep the whole world on the OTHER side of my front door. I'm having a very hard time understanding this world I'm living in, and a lot of the people in it.

Man, I feel this, and I feel for you. I think everybody can feel this to some degree. I don't mean to bombard you with cliche BS here. It's always darkest before the sun comes up. Keep looking man, it is always waiting to burst out. No matter how desolate things can feel, we can all make a particular change or do a particular thing differently and improve the situation. Even a little bit of improvement is freakin fantastic, really. Reach out if you ever wanna vent. I'm good for it.

You're doing the things you need to do in the place you should be. Aside from missing the jams and the paydays, I don't think you have any regrets to be had in that department. Good on you.

Dropped a tool on my foot almost 3 months ago. Fractured a toe, did some minor nerve damage. The pain is taking a long time to diminish. And my lower back has had me on a heating pad for most of the day from working all weekend at the first Spring clean up of 3 acres. Now, just when the craving hits, I'm out of Peanut Butter. Life is hard, you know?

Oh dude that's tragic..

It was totally weird. I was sitting in a bake shop with Jeannie... you know, me and surar-cubes having tea and crumpets and whatnot, when the news blast regarding Grumpy Cat's untimely demise came over the news. I instantly flashed to that morning's calendar... I mean... she's more of a dog person, and I dig the kitties, but we agree on Grumpy Cat. That was a bad day in the bake shop.
