Is global warming fake?

You can argue whichever side you want until you are blue in the face, but the victor in this debate won't be decided for decades to come, if at all.

On the other hand, you can contact your local baby fighting organization and see who the victor is in a match that lasts 20 minutes or less. Plus every Tuesday is free nacho night.

Pfft! What do you mean "for decades to come"? My last champ, "Joltin'" Bo Pistakito, won his 8 title bouts in under 30 seconds each time with his signature move I dubbed, "The Single." Because it was the single most deadliest swing from a baby I'd ever seen...

You forgot to do the documentary plug...didn't you get the last newsletter?

Real or not why not error on the side of caution. If it is real and we ignor it the outcome is bad. If it is fake and we address it we end up with a better planet to leave to our future generations.

Personally, I don't believe the whole thing is man made. The earth goes through cooling and heating periods. I think we are in a heating period, but what mankind has done is making it a bit more pronounced.

Man has to have a huge effect on Earth and the environment, by clearing rain forests, dumping chemicals into the atmosphere & water, changing the natural order of plants & animals in the ecosystem. We have screwed with anything & everything on this rock.

I can't see man kind doing ANYTHING positive for the environment, ever.

This sums it up ^

if it's fake, people are making lots of money.
if it's real, people are making lots of money.

i've kinda grown fond of the earth, so that's where i put my efforts. if the joke's on me, then at least my karma is ok...

Not 100% believable. So no I don't believe everything the media tells me.

But I still believe in cleaning the environment, cleaner factories and alternative fuels/electricity would be very nice so we could all breath cleaner air. I'm no environmentalist but I do believe in keeping the world clean as possible.

I am young though so I don't want to get on believing there is absolutely no risk, I mean what if I'm wrong, what if we're wrong. Sure you adults will be old or dead but my generation has a risk of living in Al Gores steaming hot, flooded water world.

As said before if its real and we do nothing then we're screwed. If its fake and we did precautions we still have cleaned up the world.

There may be no reason for some of you to live cleaner because "warming" but why do unnecessary polluting isn't a cleaner world what everybody would like?

I love the term "greedy oil barons", but you'd have done better to add "fat" and "sweaty" to the list...it paints the villain you're desperately trying to depict just a little worse.

What about the guy that works under him? Or the greedy oil baron's personal assistant? Surely someone this greedy has a team of people working for him. Are they greedy, too? How about the janitors that clean the greedy oil baron's evil headquarters? They're all making money off the same thing. Where's the line? Is it the amount? The kind of work performed? The amount of work performed? The source of the income? Are the guys at the local full service station the greedy oil baron's henchmen? Do they deserve the same scorn? I'm just trying to get an idea of the scope and boundaries of the hate I should have for which people. Thanks.

Mike

the answer must come from within.

Within says: hate everyone.

After spending some time in the Netherlands I have no doubt that it's real. This country is very sensitive to changes in climate and sea level. It seems no one here thinks its bogus. I think a lot of people in the US say its a hoax because they just don't care and/or they are ignorant. I used to be one of them.

Yes so-called 'global warming' is indeed fake. For many people it is their religion and they want it to be yours too... so be wary of this "global crisis" hysteria and it's disciples. I've developed an unconsious reflex of sorts lately: While watching TV my brain goes into a filtering mode.. as soon as I hear the words "global" or "carbon" or anything down those tired lines, the sound instantly gets muted or the channel is changed.

... This one slipped my radar.
You guys managed to weave, global warming, hilarious baby fighters, paranoia, political bi-partisan gobbly-gook, and religion in one thread.
This is the very reason I love this place.
Oh yeah, I'm officially nominating this for the Hall of Fame. :D

... i'll second that nomination .

:D

the greatest "scientific" hoax in the last 200 years.

I love how "every credible scientist..." right because then by being skeptical, you're automatically not credible. Never mind you're from Harvard. Never mind you're from Yale. Never mind your PhD. Never mind your 40 years of research. If you dare disagree with the Rev. Al Gore, Arch-Bishop of the church of Climatology, you're "not credible". Even when 20,000 like qualified, like-minded individuals sign the same document you did, calling the hysteria surrounding "global warming" preposterous, you are no better than a holocaust denier, because the good Rev. Al Gore said so.
