Global warming is dangerous for the planet. It's a simple factual statement. If you see it as hysterical, that's your problem.
This is hysterical.

What's this supposed to prove?
That if you go to websites like celticsurf.net instead of getting your information straight from credible sources, you'll be more afraid? Touche, I guess.

Wrestling is fake, people. Baby Fighting (or Extreme Youth Combat, or whatever your local chapter calls it) is as real as it gets. No rehearsed moves, no fake chair throws, none of that garbage. So most americans in this thread think it is fake?

The key to this debate for me is that we have nothing to lose by reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and other non-renewable energy sources. We can only gain for the future. I personally agree that the earth has cycles, but that doesn't mean that human actions can't AUGMENT a cycle to the point where it upsets the Earth's ecological balance.

The hole in the ozone layer is a totally different issue.
Does anyone remember a British anti-GW video? It debunked a lot of Al Gore's theories. The main premise is that Al Gore's chart of CO2 vs. temperature was correct, but that it was temperature controlling carbon dioxide and not the other way around, and the sun controlling temperature. For those who have taken chem, this makes some sense... increase the temperature and the ocean, the main contributer of CO2, will release more CO2 due to Le Chatelier's principle.
I think the main reason we're calling it "climate change" now instead of "global warming" is so that anything unusual can be pinned on fossil fuels. After all, we don't know where this is all going... so a record number of hurricanes, an unusually cold winter, a heat wave or a drought can all be used as evidence even if one idea conflicts with another. Feral cats giving birth in the fall? Must be due to something in the weather... something that has changed, even if it isn't due to global warming.
