Is It Wrong to Put a Squier Logo on a Fender?

Not my place to judge what's wrong. But if I didn't want my nice Fender to get ripped (and I have one and I don't want it to get ripped), I'd leave it home and gig with a Squier.

Or just pass on those gigs. Are they really worth it?

It's wrong. It only encourages the scum of the Earth to make more Squier decals, so even more people will get ripped off down the road.

Yeah I think this might be my oppinion aswell.

It's a funny concept because usually people go the other way making a cheap bass look more expensive, but either way the real legal issue is infringing on a companies trademark. Which is the case either way.
If we asked Fender or Squier how they felt about ebay sellers selling decals of their trademarks I am pretty sure they would be against it no matter what the motive for doing so would be. So i'm not going to give those sellers my money.

Feel for you. A friend bought an old mandolin for five bucks at a flea market recently, and we looked it up online with high hopes, only to learn it was a Gibson

"yeah this is a fender but I put a squier logo on it so $900.00 please." Do whatever you want with it. It's YOUR bass. If you are thinking of selling it, don't.

This makes it a very high dollar instrument, and it was made in the USA.

That's because those people don't recognize the value of a higher quality logo. You get an additional five horsepower, plus all the tone enhancement you can use if you put a Squier logo on your Ric. Trust me, I play a doctor on TV or sometimes a fender banger in a body shop or... Never mind, just trust me on this.

I'd totally do it. Wait for those equipment snobs to tell you your gear sucks 'cause it's a Squier, and you can sit their asses down for a lesson.

Quite honestly...this would make it totally worth it. You'd either see the placebo effect in full force or you'd laugh your butt off watching them have to admit that a Squier played really REALLY well LOL
