?? Like Oldsmobiles? Do they have that much of a cult following? As the opposite is more likely.

Yup, exact same everything except body. I originally bought just the neck and made the rest, with a lot of expert help. Then, I did too many preamp experiments, resulting in too many holes drilled. It got away from me! So, I found a used Modulus body and simply transferred everything over. Still sounds and plays great, but it lost a little depth and complexity to the tone. IMHO, some of the sterility for which Modulus has a reputation can be attributed to the body.

I would have to say a lot of it has to do with the 1/4" thick finish all over that body. I've never seen another bass with a finish that thick. Mine actually felt like it was encased in plastic like a smartphone case.
I still loved my Quantum 4 and love to get it back one day..........but the new owner doesn't answer my PM's anymore.

The one you sold recently?
Not damning either way, but their fax number is disconnected. Now, I don't know anyone who still uses fax (except the IRS), so that's not exactly a nail in the coffin, just interesting.
No, I actually had a Quantum 4 a couple of years ago that I sold foolishly to put a deposit down on a bass that I didn't even end up buying. I still like my Fodera way better, but it would have been a fantastic back-up bass.

I miss it dearly. I tried to buy it back last year, but to no avail.

Geoff makes excellent basses. I have owned two, both with wooden necks. I always bring two basses to gigs my G. Gould GGi 5-string and my (Geoff era) Modulus TBX 5-string.
I don't think Geoff makes wooden neck basses anymore, the graphite necked one I tried was quite nice. No TBX style from Geoff yet.

Anyone recall a new graphite necked bass that someone here had? I recall the builder not having a functioning website, yet built a really cool bass.
So just to confirm; after 671 posts and over a month, nobody knows anything?
Seems so, and/or those that do are not talking.

Jerry Dorsch, Graphite Guitar Systems. Modulus alumni. I think it was one of his relatives that posted the bass.
