Interesting ideas. I like the popcorn side dot markers But that might be hard to pull off. I think squire might be the best candidate for this model. After all, we all know squiers are as good as mia fenders anyway.

How about this:

They come with a tweed taco shaped gig bag and a bag of orville rickenbackers microwave popcorn in the accessory pouch?

Rickenbackers? Is this pun intentional on your part? Or maybe all counterfeit Ric basses should be called Redenbachers? And set up with action like buttah?

That being said. I have an American Special Precision with a tort guard and Thomastik flats waiting for me at the FedEx store right now. Resistance was futile.

If you want to play with PRECISION, then a P bass is a must.

Yes, absolutely.

The Precision bass IS the sound in the music you grew up with. You have been hearing P-Bass all your life, and that particular instrument altered (and anchored) the sound of modern popular music for decades. So, yes, of course it alters your perception of what a bass "should: be. You can't help it, unless you grew up not listening to the radio at all.

I'm now in the position that I can be the drunk uncle at Thanksgiving. I don't smoke, though. Probably ought to take it up, just to complete the transition. Plus, I have a P that I really like.

Seeing as thunderbirds and jazzes exist, I don't understand the hype. I mean, I love a good P bass, but aside from P basses I've done studio work on SG basses, Thunderbirds, jazzes, and an old carvin. While P basses do sit in the mix very well, they tend to sound boxy without some dirt on them, and that's where the thunderbird and jazz come in for me. A jazz has such a similar attack to the P, but the midrange is a bit different, and it plays well with guitars. A thunderbird has a pretty similar midrange, but is more well rounded. Both sound equally as good as a p bass in a rock mix to me. In fact, I'd rather own a jazz and a thunderbird than two P basses.

I see your post around about this topic.

Let me tell you a story, I've been there. I've pretty much neglected a Precision since I started playing bass few years ago. It seems unimaginative and limited, and Jazz was always cooler to me, so I started buying Jazzes.

I play in a guitar heavy band and recently I wanted to sound more like Harris then Jaco, so I tried a precision with flats with my band.

Long story short I now own a precision and I'm in the middle of selling my Jazz cause I want another one.

The night I had playing with P was one of the best plays I've ever had, and even my band complimented my crappy playing which doesn't hapens alot.

I now feel complete and I don't see myself getting other guitars then the P.

Do yourself a favour man and buy yourself a precision, you won't regret it.
