The difference is that CK has a stake in this issue. Most of the rest of us don't.
She has a right to be angry about money being taken out of her pocket. Why would people here be upset about her being upset about that? It's not our money.
It's like the guy who went to Wendy's after the Super Bowl and cussed out the staff because they wouldn't give him his free Grand Slam Breakfast.

well, for one, when you "steal" something from someone the original owner no longer has access to the item.

Okay, let's try it this way. I'm selling one original song. $1 a pop. You want the song. Every time you buy it, I earn a dollar for my work/creativity/etc. Every time you STEAL it, you deprive me of money that SHOULD be in my wallet for the transaction.
