Ya I saw that BUT also saw 2 other bass players associated with the track , Most producers are not that level of bass players , I suspect it was a Studio guy hired in but not credited.

Although I can imagine what you mean, it isn't that way for me at all.

Jamerson innovated, whereas Julia interprets. That's not to diminish her accomplishment; rather it's to make a distinction between the two players' demonstrated talents.

Jamerson was a composing bassist who improvised exactly in service of the song, to render what sounded not like improvisation, but like a preconceived part.

Julia interprets preconceived parts, indeed parts already rendered by other players. That she does this with such skill, accuracy, and depth of groove is worthy of all the praise she is getting here. But it's not the same approach or aesthetic skill set as Jamerson's.

That's not true at all: plenty of A-list producers in the pop/RnB genres play bass at that level.

I'd recommend looking Ricky Reed up, he's a monster musician.

It's pretty wild how many amazing multi-instrumentalist producers aren't household names because they always work behind the scenes.

Andrew Watt is another great example.

theres one lick in there that sounds really tough to pull off , thats why I said that , that stuff normally takes a seasoned pro. Or maybe I am hearing it wrong ??? 50/50 lol.
