I've grown a mustache.

I've worn a moustache continuously for the last 45 years except for 3 months in 2006 when I shaved it off just to remember what I looked like without it. Most of that time (including now), I've worn it with a beard of one type or another. I don't really care if it's hip or not.

Wearing a mustache with a beard doesn't really count as having a "mustache", at least not in my book. It's basically part of the beard.

Update:

My mustache has really grown on me (spare me the lame pun). I'm really starting to like it a lot. I decided to start curling the ends and turn it into a handlebar mustache, which I wasn't really sure of at first because I really didn't want to come off like I was trying to hard or worst of all, come off looking like a hipster. Then I realized something, by not growing a handlebar mustache just because hipsters grow them, I was essentially being a non-conformist and we all know hipsters are the perennial non-conformists, ergo I'm actually acting like hipster by trying not to be like one. So I decided that I really don't care if hipsters have handlebar mustaches, I really want a handlebar mustache because I think they look awesome, so now I have one.

Dude, what's your instagram so I can follow you on my typewriter iPad from my local Starbucks.

Hahahaha Starbucks is way too mainstream, you need to find a hole in the wall coffee shop that has the worst coffee in the world and then swear how good it is because no one knows about it.

Tell that to the hipsters riding their fixies around my neighborhood with a cup of starbucks in their free hand. Or worse, the ones riding their longboards.

/shudder

Just as a sidenote, I actually do approve of the upturn, but damn is that just hipster as ****.

Dude. You can totally have a mustache that's distinguished from you're beard. You just got to be good at grooming it that way.

I've been thinking of adopting the Axel (Walking Dead) look, myself, but I need to grow my 'stache some more before I shorten my beard.

My fault, you're absolutely right, although I don't think it's as cool because you're not really filling committing to the mustache. It's like you're saying, "I want to grow a mustache, but I don't have the balls to, so I'll just grow a beard along with."

Although admittedly, "The Axel" is a pretty cool look.

It's more or less a true Van Dyke style beard. Unlike what I currently have going on.

And actually, I started on my beard first without any original thought of growing a mustache. I was originally just going for a really long goatee, but it looked better when I let my upper lip whiskers grow. My chin whiskers have gotten a lot wider and more filled in since then, though, so now it's a beard. Time to go back to the Captain Morgan look, I think.

One time, ten years ago, I shaved the mustache off just to see if I really liked it better and everyone told me not to do that anymore. I agreed. I looked silly without it. :D
