Just located this thread:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=519285

It looks just like mine, so it seems to be one of these rare ones indeed?

Thanks
Chris
oh wow the search function actually brought up a GOOD THREAD for info :):)

yep it looks like the thing is as described...costs, rarity, custom..the whole thing.... Reminds me of a few other models that they only made a few of for a 1 time run and said no more because of a specialty item don't sell enough or the price is so high noone wants them like the TBX/E5/F5/C5/ Anti-Grav/ Roswell, the list goes on and on before Jackson decided to sell out to Fender.

Yes, guess you're right. It might have been hard to sell these 50 for the dough they asked for. Anyhow, me likey this ugly bird and it will be just right with all the flames when we're gonna play at the motorcycle fiesta an July 10th with our classic rock band.
So I will do a little setup work and also place some foam under pickup later today and then we'll see if it was worth the 550 bucks.

Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks a lot for the scan, very nice. Well yes, the Kelly is great too. Did a little setup work and tried the little sucker out here at home. Very very cool, the 18V electronics is very powerful, a lot of headroom and well worth the money ... you´re right. So later this week I´ll treat my Boogie 400+ with the JJ.

Thanks a lot,
Chris

just to bump the thread here's finally a real pic of the JPB, but next to my only other CAR bass in the whole house:

since I never played one of these, Paramountz is riight...very light, so nothing special except like him and the other JPB owners we enjoy telling people we have a 90's lawsuit bass rather than a 70's one. Although none of these would come close to a Marleaux Consat, oh well at least it stirs up stories :):)
