your close, Jackson "HAS" made quite a lot in the past, but no more..all they have for 2010 is 2 lame overpriced sig models...
keep looking, the old pointy Concert C5's are out there, but VERY hard to find. I have been looking for a darkBlue one forever to go with the white one I have.awesome thread
whats everyones opinon on the concert line?
and the odds of finding a 5 string...been looking for a year yet to find one
I didn't measure it but it's probably 34 like the rest.
SOB, I'm sure the JPB9 top of the line in the series is a little heavier, but this thing is a toy compared to even that 4b it is sitting next to in the pic...the thing played right out of the box, but the pots are loose, I have no clue how much battery life is left, strings need changed the J-pickup is microphonic, the bridge is the 2nd gen cheaper version with rusted saddle screws...etc...
not a mark on the frets and the thing will get taken apart this weekend and made 100% again thanks to the "parts-bin"... but what did I expect for 125.00 honestly right?
this is one of those fix-er-uppers that won't cost anything since I already have all the parts available.

I hear ya, the neck on the CM5 took a couple of trys to get it to stay straight and now I need to make a new string nut because the stock one was cut too low to compensate for the neck bow,I made a prototype out of 316 stainless but I didnt leave enough stock for final string height and the D & G strings buzz on frets 1 thru 4
well I'm glad you have made progress on that thing, hope the new nut finishes the deal off and you can jam on it daily...
I found a Jackson bass with the textured finish for sale. Serial number 211222 stamped on the neckplate. Any info available? Didn't check what the headstock said.
Am I missing something? Is that a Consat with a Jackson neck?

thats probably a 86, I'd have to see a pic to be sure what model.
they "did" only for a short time because MArlueax sued em for the body clone...that model is called a JPB and was available in 3 trim levels, painted being the cheapest. it was never offered in the catalog, only dealers knew they were made for ordering like a couple other units they made a short run on.

unfortunatly no, I sold it to a fellow collector and never took a video of me playing it. it was light, sounded like any other p/j preamped bass and is not the "desirable" collectible since it was the painted version. they made 1600 before the lawsuit. That red charvel they made 50 of then stopped because no dealers bought them as it looked like a yamaha ripoff and was way overpricedYeah, after posting the message I started to look around for info and found out the whole story! I really dig the Consat body shape and I was thinking that Jackson could be a good base for some modding; a Consat on a budget Plus the oddity of playing such a little known bass model
they are on ebay every now and then, the JPB9 is what everyone is after and usually STILL only go for less than 500. ( nothing Jackson made is $$$$ except for the USA models ) and TOKENSHRED, yep still got it, in fact I tossed a little recent vid using it on the channel since it was out of the case when I was checking batteries and I wanted to remember what it weighed compared to my Charvel I use all the time now.Thanks for the review!
I have a lot of leftys now, and I use them at gigs so I don't look like a dork with a flipped righty anymore. The tbird is the only shape that don't look stupid, but I sold off all my other tbirds except for the Jackbird
and since this is a jackson thread, let me brag about our current band membership a little.
this is an all Jackson band, it just ended up that way when our righty guitarist bought a blue DK2M:
a red-white-and blue jackson playing band with 2 leftys in it..what could be more strange...lol

My guitarist is a huge fan of Jackson instruments and he keeps bugging me about switching to a Jackson bass...those JPB might just do the trick, hehe!

I had a Jack C20 made in India. Solid Cerbo Body.
Construction: Nice head joist.
Pickups were so powerful, it was like playing an 18v.
Neck was good.
Mix pot was crunchy and there was no replacement, so we made it a double Vol per pup.
I gave it away to a church since I was busy with 6 strings and the 5's do not get out much so the 4 was not going to see me any time soon.
80's Rock and Metal all the way with that one. Just cause it is a 4 string where there is not much to go wrong when slamming around. Frlt like a toy against the massive 6's.
The body shape did not match up to being a metal instrument, but it was a great bass.
For 3 and change, it was a fine instrument.

that's what I LOVE about Jacksons and Kramers, just not the typical Fender after 15-30 years to "gain" value, so all the folks who paid close to a grand back then are available for cheap-cheap now a days.
Absolutely nothing to brag about except well constructed, nice playing, and of the 30 or so ( all used ) I have had in my years I have never bought a "DUD".
