it plays fine for what it is out of the box no new stringss, etc.... the hz's dont buzz ,the pre has a scratchy vol and mid pot, it is alder so nice weight and i'll do one youtube video with it before I take it apart. I still cant believe a good condition one can still fetch almost 500, but whatever

the guy who is gonna build me a bass is keeping the loaded body for himself and the neck will be used on a frankenjackson lso i'll end up with a black lefty tbird with a jackson reversehead neck, the fusion's rail p+j pups a J2000 pre and a kahler. - with the correct smaller "lefty" Jackson logo naturally ;)

like this righty usa reversehead, ya just gotta think of the body flipped, except the fat part of the fin would be on the bottom.lol

Cool T-bird project Mike ... Keep us updated :bassist:

so once again nobody in the world loves jacksons, even fewer lefty players. a good thing for me because I just bought another model2 LEFTY so cheap I almost just peed my pants compared to what I paid for my white and burg-mist units!! If this unit is like my other 2 I'll be very happy.

in the ad he is also selling an amp. I'm gonna tell him he can throw it away or sell it himself so I don't get hooked with a huge 2 package ship charge.

well I said a good year or more ago that if they made 500dollar bolton pointys again people would buy a ton. It was the USA's that 3-4grand was just not possible for the masses to get back to Jackson playing after 10 years of ugly nasty sounding gumbyheads with weird shapes.

well now it has come true.

I dont cry too much because I have enough lefty jacksons but a silverburst 5stringer lefty would be sweet even if it was an upcharge of 100bucks.

and if your wondering why the CMG is still so high..the others are MI India, the CMG still Japan

Guys I have a question, I'm looking to buy another bass here and I'm extremely interested in something like a Jackson CMG. How easy is it to find a used one of these in pawn shops or used equipment shops? I also noticed Guitar Center had new CMGs with EMGs for sale on the website, no picture and I'm just wondering if these are the same ones Jacksons been making for years or that style where it didn't have that pointy headstock and no sharkfin inlays? This will be my first bass with EMG pickups so I really want to try one before I make the purchase. Honestly don't want to wait until these JS3's come out.

i'm too biased to answer because I've owned so many models.....but,

for the price?....there are quite a few "other" jackson/charvel units that feel, weigh, and sound the same.

and are a 1/4 of the cost.

Ok I'll agree with that, but mainly just want to know if they are worth it. And how often you guys come across them in pawn shops or used music stores. I come from playing my Ibanez that has bartolinis and just want something more rock/metal oriented with EMGs as a secondary.. (or make that third-ary). That and I love David Ellefsons tone. :D

they made a lot of them so who knows where they ended up :)
one of my friends gave me that blue one in the pics with a separated FB but it still played so before I took it apart to send off to the luthier I cranked out a few jams on it.
lots of string rattle tuned to DGCF, but oh well the FB is loose...lol

actually I was gonna compare it to a 3b, but all the charvels came with dot necks but it does sound similar.
