I also found a blue CMG, a CAR lefty Futura and a black model2 lefty that the prices were so low I couldn't say no.

there's still some C5's around somewhere even quite a few F5's ( fusion ) but never have I seen an E5, so I threw the C5 on ebay and it was gone within the same day.

I did find a lefty Elim-4, but the musicstore wanted 4grand a year ago, and they still have it...for 4grand and will NOT come down in price....they can keep it!!!

Whoa, this is a long thread!!! I loved my 1986 C/J which was stolen out of my car during my sophomore year at college:

hahah steve your one of the few people who actually know what year their unit is....

I have so many 87's and 88's, but still have an 86 left in the bunch.

I know because that photo was taken in my dorm room that year! It came in a sweet tweed case that I kept for many years (the bass was in a gig bag when some cretin broke into my car and stole it).

Looks like you have one like this, right amimbari? What's the approx. street price for one like this? I've often thought of trying to hunt one down for nostalgia's sake. Again, I switched to jazz basses after that an never looked back, but my son has a P/J bass that sounds killer and I kind of wish I had one now.

ya I have 3 lefty and 1 righty 2b's currently. my 86's were both black.

the only one I have left is the black one I swapped a spare 1b's maple FB neck so I could have a pair of black and maples and sold the 1b with the rosewood FB on it.
as far as the model series, I still have one of each 1-2-3-4

usually you can get em for 200-300 or so depending on the condition and case or not sale, and every month there's one listed somewhere.

So you guys have seen two of these before but now I have a new addition a 1992 NT sparkle green custom shop concert w/ kahler bridge. I paid too much but what the hell... the others are from left to right 1993 coral sea NT custom series .. 1987 Ontario custom shop NT concert bass ...and of course the new greenie which looks much nicer in person. Both the coral and the greenie have MOP logo too which I really like.

imagine what that red USA is gonna top out at towards the very end of the auction, probably some CRAZY price like that sunburst tbird that hit 2300.00 from some collector out there.

You are right M. I did get what I wanted ...well sort of...after the loss of the T Bird I had to get something to make me feel better. This bass is actually very nice and what you can't see in any pics of it is the really deep green that the head stock and body have. It's very pretty ( If I were Irish I would be in heaven !!) and it sounds and plays great as well. A very nice addition to my little collection of vintage USA Jacksons. Thanks for all you great help and advice.

a molded case to fit it perfectly may be sitting at a guitar store for years, and the occasional one I see on ebay...that's about it. I ran into the same issue with my Jackson tbird, and I found a SKB flight case where the foam inside had to be modded slightly, but it wont move around, holds it supertight and would protect it 100%.

I have a Jackson C20 bass that I am more than satisfied with. One thing I love is the passive tone knob seems alot more useful on this bass than other passive basses I've owned. The tone knob on my MIM P and Lakland Bob Glaub ranged from brittle glass to ultra dead - thick comforter over the amp tones forcing me to leave it somewhere in the middle. With the C20 both extremes on the tone knob are still useful. We'll see how the neck holds up when I put LaBella Jamersons on there. All in all very pleased for a pawn shop bass I picked up for $150.
