Oh yes. This belongs here. Needed a louder rig with 4 days notice and hit used dept of guitar center and started mixing and matching lol I'm a little scared that it actually sounds pretty good. $480

Here's my contribution to jank.

Peavey Firebass 700 head, an old Peavey 1x15 combo with the amp taken out and the Sheffield speaker replaced by an Eminance 15 covertly lifted out of a club's PA in lieu of promised pay, and a Hartke 1x15xl cab. Total cost $230

Plenty loud, but lacking in tone.

Updated Janky rig...

My rehearsal rig for a hard rock/metal band that practices way too loud:

Late '70s Yamaha G100-II guitar head and a well used Sonic B610T. After a couple hours of use, the heatsink is barely warm.

We used to practice in an old vacant store downtown. The house rig was an 80s Hartke or GK 400RB head into a decrepit 80s Mesa 115 cab.

It looked janky, but sounded awesome. A Jazz Bass into the 400RB and Mesa especially.

600 watts of tube jank and a janky wrecked motorcycle.

Good ol' Bassman 300 sitting on the Faital 18FH500/Eminence 6CBMRA, new to me MTI SVT on an 810E, and an old Ampeg 118 I loaded up with the JBL E155. Holy hell, that JBL 18" pounds as loud as the 8x10 does.

that's not jank!!! haha !! i'd accept it if there was a rigged up input connector, missing logos, or big grill tears, but that's some pretty un-janky stuff, bro!

Okay fine.

In my defense, motorcycle is now jank. The grill cloth frame on the 18" doesn't fit on at all with the JBL. It's just sitting in there ready to fall out. The back and bottoms of both the Ampeg and Kustom are showing considerable plywood but I guess you guys can't see that.

Still, I admit it's not super jank.

sorry no picturs(this was the 60s after all)but one of my first rigs consisted of a valve thing with no case that threw you across the room if you touched it even when unplugged( someone once explained why but i cant remember)and the speaker was from a theater pa but mounted in a tea chest.it was refered to as the beast, not for the sound, that could just about overpower an acoustic but for the fact that it could kill you if you picked it up wrong and touched something on it.i think it got beer on it and died.but it was PURE VINTAGE JANK.

just found a photo of a piece of indian jank from about 20 years ago,it had no name and a bunch of non working effects.i am sittin on it coz there is an ants nest by my feet,the bass is a fenton weill and i think they were considered a bit janky in their time and still are a beast to get on with unless refretted.but i have rebuilt mine and its left its jankyness behind,i contacted a mate of mine to ask about the possibility of a photo of THE BEAST,i came up negative but he did tell me that the chassis came from a WATKINS WESTMINSTER 15 watt valve git amp and,get this,he was a roadie in the 60s and worked for kit lambert and he said the amp was used by a rather famous visiting black american guitarist as a final tuneup amp before gigs.i wont take issue with him about this as he is an elder statesman of a very well known international motorcycle group.PS i still have a few bits of jank.you know the saying ONCE A JANKY ALWAYS A JANKY.

It's been quite a while, but my garage sale jank got another garage sale upgrade today. It's a Peavey PA 200 into the same no name 1x15 car woofer cab. Somehow this thing sounds fricking amazing (car woofer and all). The Leeds pedal up front increased my tonal options, but quite frankly, this thing sounds surprisingly good on it's own.

An ants nest.... by your feet. So rather than move or something, you sat on your janky amp to play your janky bass.
