I just got the book in the mail. Lots of great stuff. What are some peoples favorite 'licks'? I've started to go through it and put stars next to some phrases and ideas I want to come back to.
i have flipped through many lick books and this is right up there with the best. thank you! what a steal at $9. the only very minor complaint is yes, spiralbound would be great. not usually seen for books this thick. i've been recommending this book to friends. well done.
Thanks so much Bopland.
Just received the book. It's great. I was surprised to see it's 295 pages of different approaches to standard harmonies. I was expecting the standard 30 page lick book that repeats the same ideas in different keys.
It's a welcome addition to my practice routine fits perfect between intervals and noodling.
Thanks again.
Yes thank you Bopland, l'm currently studying with Putter Smith, and I told him about the book. I really like it for sightreading practice, and am going to bring it to my next lesson so Putter can check it out too. Thx again!
Just to say big thank you to @bopland for sending me a copy of the book, I only had the chance of a superficial read but it looks like a great source of inspiration. And it arrived way before the estimated date
Putting my 5-string electric away for a bit and getting back to the upright. Just purchased a Krutz Hybrid and I'm loving it but I'm looking for a good book to assist me in my jazz studies. Sounds like I should check this out!
