Jazz vs P-Bass vs Stingray Vs rickenbacker

If it was one bass forever. You could not have more than one bass to cover all music styles. Best sounding. Highest quality build. A bass you would have buried with you. Out of the four listed what would you choose ?

For me It would be a JBass

I own all but the Rickenbacker (played a friend's a long time ago, liked it a lot, but I'm a five string player now) and love them all. But it's no contest. My Stingray 5HH is my favorite. It can easily cover any musical style, it sounds amazing and has tons of tonal flexibility, and EBMM's build quality is among the best. But, on top of those things, it feels like it was custom made for me. It fits my personal ergonomics perfectly.

Just don't bury me with it. Do something appropriate with it when I'm gone that enables it to continue to be played.

I voted for a Rick as that was my first proper bass.

But one bass forever, I would have to vote my Gibson Triumph Les Paul Bass. With all the filters and tone controls, I can get P-bass, J-bass, Rick, & EBO tones all day.

I may be an old squarehead, but in my world, electric basses have to say "Fender" on the headstock. I like my P Bass better than my Jazz Bass.

Ric > P bass > J bass > Stingray.

I regularly bounce back and forth between my P and my RIC, but played the Ricky last night at practice and was again blown away by the sound.

This thread reminds me that I need a new J

I've owned a Squire P, a MIA Fender Jazz, a MIM Fender PJ, and a Rickenbacker 4003. The most versatile and easy to play is by far is the Jazz, although I'm going instrument shopping this weekend and I may get a MIA P Bass, which I suppose could change my mind. It's between that or a Gibson SG yet I digress. If I could only ever play one bass again, it would have to be my Jazz

LOVE, own and play each .... but if I had to put them in a "go to" order ..... this would be it:

#1. Jazz .... and only because it feels like home, like the template all other basses should feel like, IMO
#2. Stingray
#3. Rick
#4. P
