Jimmy's fault... (Ampeg content)

I got my first Ampeg, an SVT 3 Pro about a year and a half ago. I has been a great head, I run it through a SVT 212 AV and it moves all of the air that I need.

But...

I really, really, really, really wanted a genuine, all tube SVT. I've played through them and there is nothing else quite like them. The planets aligned this evening and I picked up a clean 2006 US made SVT Classic. I have not carried it in from the car yet. Here is the seller's photo as I know the rule, no photo no amp.

Now I'm going to save up for a second SVT 212 AV.

Thanks Jimmy!
How do you think the SVT Classic compares to your SVT 3 Pro?? I have a 3 Pro and LOVE it. I've used various all-tube SVT's for backline, but never really like got to dig into them.

just wait......your back will hurt, but you will love your svt. so, then you'll do this and probably get divorced.

Why do people insist commenting on the weight of an SVT? Especially after the fact that the owner has bought it and carried it to their car to take home. We know they are heavy and obviously it doesn't bother us. Man I was hoping to see a thread without mention of the weight. Damn you "What for metal" people.

I agree, I'm not a fan of sacrificing tone for light weigh. I'd much rather carry something heavy for a couple minutes, that will in return, give me hours of happiness.

I've been a drummer forever, I always help others carry gear and they help me. There is nobody that I work with who would mind grabbing the other end of it to carry it into or out of a gig once they hear the sound.

This afternoon I just started working on a deal to trade one of my drum sets for a brand new SVT 810E and an additional SVT 212 AV cabinet. :D

I just got it home. I too have used all tube SVT backlines and played drums next to them forever. I'm going to get to A-B them and give an honest opinion once I've lived with it a while.
