I don't think The Who should go anywhere without him. He was forefront for them. I dunno though, I don't know who they could put in for Him? I mean, didn't he do like a hit-the-string-when-the-drumstick-hits-the-drum kind-of thing? Yeah, but still a day that I will always remember. It's such a big thing to take, I mean, I thought he was going to go on for a long time to come, I mean he was what, 57? It's just crazy. But, losses come, we will prevail. Indeed bassing will never be the same, I believe it will be a long time before any one can even think "I'm as good as 'The Ox'", if ever. But it's done, "What's done is done and cannot be undone",we just all have to find our own way to get beyond it, without forgetting him, but moving on his memory of greatness.

I licked the comment about the coverage Aaliyah's death got. It didn't stop for weeks. I have the feeling the "suits" will not make a big deal out of it at MTV and MuchMusic. If they don't make a special, then I will totally be disgusted of today's society.

There are no words to describe the influence this man had on me (and many others, I'm sure). He completly changed my life. Like another person here posted, my biggest wish was to meet him personally, just shake his hand, and say how a big influence he was in my life. I just hope we can meet in another time and another place.

May God bless his soul. He lived his life to the fullest, yet died so young. What touches me a lot is that my dad is of his age. I can't believe it could happen to someone like him. It really makes me wonder.

He had mentioned many times how he always wanted to push himself harder 'cause he felt he kept getting better at what he did. Wow, what a man! He licked to perform in front of small crowds because he licked its intimicy and warmth.

Once again, thank you very much for all the memories and wonderful moments. Never, will you be forgotten.

This sucks. I loved the Who. I can't really get my feelings into any sort of words. My dad told me while I was on my way to bass lessons and I couldn't believe it.

I wonder what the Who is going to do now. My family's got tickets to see them on the 3rd at Shoreline.

Is there any point in seeing the Who now? I always wanted to see these living legends, but without Ox, is there any point?
This is a sad day for the bass. A master has passed. Truely a master. One of the best there ever will be.

I tend to agree I think The Who are finished now and I dont blame them... They Lost Ole Mooney Back in 78 and managed to carry on but now the other part of the back bone is gone.. There is nobody gonna be able to play Ox's part. I am very Lucky to have seen them in 82,89, and 97 on the Quadrophenia Tour And Man whatta band!! I was really wanting to catch this tour. Now John is up there with Mooney contemplating the ultimate band.
