John Paul Jones fan club?

Awesome Pic!
How would one go about blowing that up so it could be framed?
I would like a good quality print of that.

Beats me man, I am very ignorant on all things visual, related to photography, film, etc. I can grasp a bit of it when explained, because I am an audio engineer by trade, so things like resolution make sense to me, but my brain doesn't translate it well to the visual.

Anyway - I was just about to post the source of that photo - it's an "E" book, a digital only book, released by photographer Neal Preston, who had shot the band for years, and was officially hired by them in '75 (this picture is from 75). There are countless iconic pictures of the band in the book that most know well, and then tons of lesser known photos. Quotes from musicians, and because it's digital, there are snippets of audio and video of key players during Neal's time with the band. It's fantastic for any fan of rock photography and/or Led Zeppelin. And I think it might be only $10 or something. iTunes exclusive I think.

My thinking is if you get the book, and have a Mac (with one purchase I can use the book on all my devices), you could do a high res screen grab with some sort of app, creating a file suitable for printing. Others might know more than I.

I found this on Youtube, a bit of a promo bit from Neal:

What I usually do is right-click (two-finger click on a Mac) the image and select "search Google for image". Google will pull up all visually identical files, and you can choose the one with the best resolution.

In this case, the only result that came up is the same file that was posted here... it's 1737x1536, which is pretty decent sized (for reference, HD video is 1920x1080)... probably should be good up to a 8x10 or even 10x12 print. Being a fairly noisy/grainy black & white shot as it is, you might even be able to go bigger than that before noticing any overt decrease in quality.

Hope that helps.

Whew.

Funny, I didn't know much about Bill Graham (other than being a big name in the music biz) when you posted that group pic with the fiver way back when... then I stumbled across this documentary about the Fillmore on YouTube the other day. Yeah, I can definitely see him butting heads with Zep over Grant/Cole's, uh, leadership style.

Not directly related to JPJ, but well worth a watch for anyone who appreciates 60-70s music:

Cool, I will check it out. His bio is really good BTW. I should re-read it, it's been like 15 years.
