JP Basses

Okay I've gone back and read the posting from earlier today about the e-bay listing and confronted my co-worker "friend"
about the coincidence of the listing and then him tellling me his Dad's good fortune which BTW i found totally ludicrous but

instead of laughing in his face I thought i;d share it with fellow TB'ers.
Not knowing about the earlier thread when the responses
started coming in about me being a scammeri started getting a little defensive.

Anyway... I've been trying to get down to the bottom of this issue and this guy won't admit that it was his listing on e-bay. I KNOW BELIEVE IT WAS. And I would like to give my Sincere Apologies the TB brotherhood for this thread.

But also this is why I like it so much b/c if theres a scam artist out there he will be found!

Last there 's not much I can do to this person since we work together , other than some choice words and threat's of he want's to try to keep scamming I will report him to the
proper authorities and and that I really can't trust him anymore. AGAIN I'm Sorry.

IMHO, you don't have anything to appologize for, but your coworker (who I won't refer to as your friend at this point), certainly does.

It'd be interesting to know if he even claims to have a bass at all now or not, but it may not be a good idea for you personally to press the issue at this point.

However, it would be good for this person, or anyone else considering this kind of thing, to note that talkbass.com is NOT the only bass forum out there watching out for this kind of stuff. Further, members are typically very happy to pursue it legally with the authorities due to their enthusiastic advocacy, so it's highly ill advised to try it.

Don't apologize for the thread! You actually found the guy. This is amazing! Does he actually have the bass or what?

If you're interested in pursuing...

Maybe tell him you can help him sell it if you can play it and check it over so you can best describe it. Even offer to take pics for him.

If he continues to back down, that's practically admission of guilt. Nobody would refuse free sales assistance. At the very least, something is very wrong, and while it may never be anough to pursue with the authorities, at least you'd know for sure.

Up to you if you go on.

I told him to take some pics with his phone . If does'nt then i'll be positive about it being a scam.

I don't think there's much chance of this being true- he said he won a seven-string fretless bass from a raffle at a steel mill. I don't see a snowball's chance in hell of that even being remotely close to the truth. Most people don't even know what a fretless bass is, let alone a six or seven string one, so the odds of one being put as a raffle prize at a steel mill are, um, nil.

+1. The guy needs to come up with a better story than that... gee, I always equate high-end 7-string fretless basses with steel mills... scammers are not always the smartest of folks.

Wow...JP day over the Internet !!!!!!!!!

whats going on.

Ok let's get it straight. We've only bilt four seven string basses, 2 of them beeing fretlesses, one of those two a PLUME model:

Zia bass #06012004
Link Removed

Zia bass #15032004
Link Removed

Lucii bass #26112004
Link Removed

Plume bass #10092005 (OwO's bass)
Link Removed

William (OwO) Is selling his bass in 3 forums:
http://www.bass6.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2581
Link Removed
including Talkbass
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=242955

All others listings are scam and should be reported!!

There's one and only one JP Plume 7 string fretless bass.

I don't know if someone's playing a big joke here or whatever is happening but it ain't fun. I'm also worried about all this stuff getting in he way of William's sale :(

Peace,
JP

I'm sorry I must say that I do feel that the thread starter Clavefa is our scamer!!!!!!!

I'm probably not the only one thinking that, right?

Well MR. JP im HAPPY to Say Your are wrong in your assumption.
I have never or ever will be a scammer. I never heard of your basses until the person who told me his story brought it up. Which i found "strange and totally off the wall unbelieveable. Once i did my own search I came to the conclusion that he was probalby mistaken in his ID of the make of bass.
Not knowing there was already a post about the e-bay scam.
So i'll sleep with a clear consience. And i'll keep pestering my co-worker to admit what he was doing.

Correct, but I was hoping not, and basing that hope on the fact that he's continued to contribute to this thread.

This the last post for me on this thread:

I would have to be pretty stupid to try and run a e-bay scam.
Then turn around a post a cocamamie story On TB the sameday?!

Second: Check my profile I did'nt just join this site a month ago and then decide to run scam.
Peace,
Oz

Looks to me like this is possible. Seems that maybe Clavefa is trying to cover his tracks by being the "hero" of this whole predicament. Very easy to try and tell the authorities it "wasn't him......it was the one armed man" and then point to how he "helped" try and catch the perp. on TB.

I could be wrong, and if I am I apologize in advance. If I am right, then I hope Clavefa realizes how deep in #%@! he is.
