JP Basses

Congrats JP, ppl are trying to pull scams with your basses, you have entered the hallway of luthierie's greatest! :bassist:

and +1 on this guy's story stinks, but it is still odd, or plain dum at the very least, that he would open such a topic.

This whole story stinks realy...
The worst is that it may, as JP said it, interfeers in Owo sale of a great bass.

But the facts is that there are too many coincidence here to not suspect the original poster of that thread...

This is just a reason why I'll never buy anything on Ebay.

Sheers

I've always had good luck buying on ebay, but I admit that I've been lucky. Whatever the outcome of this story may be, it should reinforce to all of us the "buyer beware" aspect of purchasing on-line from individual sellers. There are unfortunately crooks out there - too bad that they can spoil things for the rest of us.

See the great thing about Talkbass, if you see a cool JP, or Sadowsky, or Dingwall, or Skjold or whatever posted out there, you can usually come straight here and PM the builder to get the low down before you bid. Either you will uncover a scam, or you will be assured what your bidding on :)

I love this place!

What I'm wondering about this is,to what end would the original poster be shooting for,if he is making the whole thing up? He's not benefiting financially, which is the main goal of all the scammers I've seen. I don't think he would do it for attention. Whan was the last time you saw or heard of a bass player craving attantion? A guitar player maybe, but not a bassist.(lol) I bring this up because I'm in the process of completeing a deal with said original poster, and everything is on the up and up. He bought a bass from me,and it's on the way to him.Maybe some of you guys are getting as little ahead of yourselves on this. He even told me about this situation on the phone the other day. He thinks it's funny that a lot of you folks are pointing the finger at him. So,again, you need to ask why an established TB'r would try to scam sombody. it doesn't make sense.Get all the facts before you judge.
