Jule Amps Monique Part 2.

Can someone tell me how deep (in inches) the rack version of Monique is from the faceplate to the rear? Jule's website only has the width (standard 19" of course) and height of two standard rack spaces.

It looks like it's about 12" inches deep based on the website pics, but I can't quite tell for sure.

I don't have mine in my hands, but I can tell you that when I put it in a SKB shallow rack, it fit, but was just about right up against the back of the rack, with no room for me to get to the power interface.

Looks like there is a get-together of Talk Bass Folk on the 30th of this month near to Santa Cruz.

Look for "TalkBass Get Together in SF Bay Area" thread.

I'll bring my girl and see if anyone wants to give her a whirl. :cool:

The Monique Rack Mount is built inside the Middle Atlantic Products CH-2 Standard Chassis. Here is a link to the PDF with all the dimensions. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Shapin up to be a cool GTG
I am bringing my fEarful 1515/66 and microhead,s but my question to Jules would be should I bring my PA rack which contains a Peavey IPR ala Burningskies although not bridged and a Yamaha power amp as well that does bridge so we can run Monique through a power amp into the fEARful?

I'm pretty selfish. I want to try everything. So if you don't mind bringing it, we'll play it.

I'll bring a headphone amp too, for a bit of balanced out listening.

So, my band was chosen to headline a very cool, and typically well-attended fund-raiser on the shores of Lake Erie this weekend. Cool! :cool:

The guy providing the PA for the event is also providing a nice drum kit and an Ampeg SVT backline. Cool! :cool:

Only it turns out that it looks like something else came up and we get the "B rig" option. Not as cool. :hmm:

But that doesn't matter, because I have a secret weapon that I can bring, even when I'm not bringing my own rig. Enter, Monique... Hella cool! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist: :cool:

Now, in defense of that Acoustic rig, it actually didn't sound all that bad. But, when I ran Monique in front of the rig, it was a night and day, everything changed for the better, difference. Monique is a very flexible piece of gear that can be used in a variety of ways to enhance the musical experience. Once again, Jule, you have my thanks and my admiration! :cool:

Thank you Tom. This is wonderful to experience. Some days I suppose all business appears to be a series of necessary little jobs of questionable importance. But then I find I get to help make music. And that is a very, very good feeling.

Folks should also know that this Blond Monique cabinet shown is a one-off experiment in the bleached look. I am glad she is yours, Tom. Pretty. Pretty. Pretty.

Coming from Tom (who has had the opportunity to play through a plethora of bass rigs), this speaks volumes about the quality of tone of the Monique preamp!

Monique Settings....

Folks, it is hard to sift thru 1000+ posts to find what settings Monique owners are using.... so I thought I save the time and ask....

Personally I tend to keep the Bass and mids flat (sorry, at 12:00!) and the treble at 1:00-2:00. Sensitivity seems to stay in the 12:00-3:00 range where to me it sounds best.... having said that, I do like it dimed as well as at 8:00 as well. I guess this shows how many different but great tones one can get out of Monique!

What settings are you using?

I forgot about keeping the Sensitivity pushed in and all the great other tones that are there.:)

Bass 9:00
Mid noon
Treble noon
Those two a little left or right can do so much.

When I use an Ashbory a cranked Sensitivity gives a push back fatness not edge or grit.

The balance between the Gain & Sensitivity I set or move just for effect (play on words).

All of the Monique's controls do exactly what I wish. A little more or less to a lot more or less.
Just perfect.
