Jule Amps Monique part 5

Thanks for this info.
Took the feet off and velcro'd into 1203 position so it doesn't block the top mid ports.

This is s/n 1 so I guess the extra holes are from tweaks.

I'm going to have to do the same with the feet since I use a 1203 on top as well.

I purchased the Gator G-Mixerbag-1815 (18"x15"x6.5") for the Monique 700. The Gator bag costs $50. I honestly didn't want to drop $120 on a Studio Slips bag, so I decided to try the Gator first. But judging from your comments, if the Studio slips wasn't a snug fit, the Gator is going to be really loose. My amp wont be delivered until Friday, but I guess I will probably have to ship the Gator back. I really wanted to have an over the shoulder carry option, but I have a feeling it may be best to go with the molded case with diced foam instead. They are pretty reasonable in price from Gator, and they're waterproof as well. Plus they will probably provide better protection than a soft case.

Anyone using the Monique 700 Tardis with suggestions for a carry case other than the Studio Slips bag? Thanks.

I'll be interested to see what you find. The studio slips is a well made light duty gig bag. Not cheap but I needed something fast and couldn't find anything else. I wish it were stiffer outside to give it more shock/drop protection but should be fine for my hobbyist needs.

Didn't get the shoulder strap option because too many other things on my back already and didn't like the idea of this thing swinging around anyway. Theoretically I could one trip a gig with bass on back, cab in one hand and amp in the other but more realistic scenario includes pedal board, another cab, mic stand and/or various PA pieces so I won't be one tripping many gigs.

Same here with my Studio Slips Dove Cage/Minnie bag.

Fits perfectly and is well made, but I would never use it for anything other than a carrying case from my house -> truck -> gig/rehersal. It wouldn't be nearly enough protection for shipping/touring/flying IMO.

It's been pretty tough so far but I found this. It's not a soft case but it can be had for $100.00 after the discount code. Thinking about it...

Looks nice but check measurements carefully. With knobs and switches 13 inches may not be enough width to get enough foam to protect the knobs/switches. If the amp enclosure that had metal lips around the front and back it would make confident transport a little easier. As it stands if it gets knocked or dropped on the front or back the knobs/switches will take the hit. Something to consider for future development.

Obviously the rackmount is a more roadworthy option but I like the lightweight of the tardis and the one unit simplicity vs. dove cage/amp separates. Hard to deny the cool factor of the dove cage, though.

Yeah Jule told me the measurement is 12 3/4" depth so perhaps you are correct with the above.

or this may be better..

I noticed on the Monique Facebook page, Jule posted a DeMonique with a "Master Volume" control. Located to the left of the Line Level control.

I was wondering if anyone has test ridden this configuration. And is this a one-off or is it going to become a regular thing with the Monique's with the power amp addition?

It is very interesting. I have been considering upgrading to the 700 watt power amp in the future. It gets such good reviews, and would allow me to pare down the rack a little.

I was tinkering around under the hood the other day, pulled out a couple tubes and returned the original Shuguangs to the V1 & V2 spots... I need to order up a couple sets of extra new-issue 6SL7's to have on hand. I'm getting out of the vintage and NOS market...I've had a NOS JAN RCA Blackplate, a brown base Tung Sol, and a Sylvania all go south. All from a solid reputable dealer.

Who's making decent new issue 6SL7's these days that I can count on? I don't go for gold plated pins or audiophile rebrands.

Does anyone run a hot bass into Monique?

I like to use a Stingray every once in a while. The last time I was gigging Mo and the Ray they didn't get along too well. The Ray was clipping the input and there wasn't much I could do about it other than turn down the volume on the bass. Does anybody have any solutions they use?
On other amps that have a Pad or Active Input, I never use it...the Passive Input always works just fine, but I couldn't help but wonder if this was the first instance where it would have actually worked out well.

I just picked up a Bongo (18v and fairly hot) and would love to use it with the Mo, but I'm wondering if I'm going to run into the same problem.

I'm not sure how else you could buffer the input easily, but does the Bongo's preamp have a gain adjustment control inside of the cavity?
