Jule Amps Monique part 5

The preamp for my 700 tardis seems to be inoperative. I turned it on for the first time in about two weeks and the jewel on the front doesn't light up, no output.
Anyone know if this means a tube is out?
Julie, if you see this, can you give me an idea how to troubleshoot the problem?

As usual, Jule came through.
Don't know why I had no output, but Jule talked me through checking the fuse and tightening power cord receptacle. I jiggled the bulb assembly for the front light. And now everything works as beautifully as before.
Weird, but given how handy I am NOT typically, I'm going to count that as fixing it!
I should also mention that had my masterful technical skills not proven capable (an outcome I was sure to be far more likely), Jule had already offered to look it over for me at no charge. That's what I call service!!
Anyway, back to making music!
I don't, but should at least stock them, if not carry them. However, I have a Magellan as a back-up and practice amp, and occasional gig amp, so I bring that to gigs rather than stuff to fix my Monique. I seem to remember someone saying that one could obtain a full tube replacement kit from Jule. I am thinking of doing that just so I have them on hand.

A spare fuse is not a bad idea (2 amp GMA) but it is a pretty remote possibility.
I do remember one Dove Cage had an on/off switch smashed in and that blew the fuse as it is supposed to.

Jule- Uncommon for Monique's or uncommon in general?
Years ago I had dirty power at one venue, blew the fuse and the spare fuse on my Fender Studio Bass amp (spare fuse taped inside the head). I carry a micro head as backup now so spare fuse probably not necessary.
Just tidying up my cable bag/tool bag the other day & noticed I didn't have spare fuses.

Of the 4 Monique tubes, I have never heard of a failed 12AU7. Years ago some EZ81s failed within the first couple of weeks, but that was three or four years ago. None I have heard of since. Makes me feel that it is unfair to have folks pay for all four.
Regardless of the manufacturer the 6SL7/6N9P tube, especially the first tube, is pretty critical. 1000 or so (2 in each of more than 500 Moniques out there now) work beautifully without a hickup. I suspect a number of tube replacement cures were more about reseating the tube than any benefit from the tube itself. Same thing happens in the guitar world. The new (for the last 2 or 3 years) gold plated octal sockets have shown themselves to not require re-tensioning as some of the old steel sockets occasionally did.
So I will put together a replacement if folks still want one with the above caveat.

Even in the guitar world, some amps eat fuses. Monique draws so little current that blowing fuses should never be a problem.
Fuses are there to keep the really remote situation from bothering us.
I've always carried spare fuses, for my Ampeg B-15N(C), Walter Woods MI-400-8, Electrocoustic Ultra, and now for my M700. There stored in whatever I store the amp in. I think I've replaced one (or two), in all the years I've played. As, I recall my Ampeg B-15N blew a fuse when we were playing at an outdoor street fair, running off a portable generator.

I carry spare fuses for every head I have (plus PA, guitar amps etc...). But I carry spares of everything, including a spare head, backup bass, cables, tool kit, tape, batteries, picks, patch cables, tuners, strings basically anything I might possibly need for any gig I have.
I would hate to travel to a gig and have it go south because I wasn't prepared. I even carry an extra set of guitar strings, and yes they have been used by our guitarists on more than one occasion.
I keep spare fuses in my gig backpack. I also keep one with the head if there is room for one.
For Monique, I have one wrapped in foam and taped inside the skb rack case.
I carry a countryman and that's it (not including some tools and strings for my bass).
I figure worst case I can comondier an aux send if necessary. If anything happens to any part of my amp. I don't do tons of gigs anymore but when I was it got to be to much to have a spare everything.

Has anyone used the Monique with a Mesa Boogie D800? If so, do you bypass the preamp of the Mesa and drive the power amp or balance both?
I haven't used Monique with the Mesa, but I have used it with my Aguilar TH500. It sounded great. I was really surprised, tons of headroom. I just connected Monique to the "power amp in".
What really surprised me was the apparent amount of usable power compared to the Crest ProLITE 2.0 I was using at the time. I never gigged with it, but tried it several time at home.

I blew a fuse in Minnie during set up at a gig. At that stage did not carry a spare. I did carry an EBS Reidmar as a spare amp. Ran Monique into EBS - 250w heaps of grunt through a Berg NV412. Not as nice as Minnie but shows the benefit of spare everything.
I now have spare Minnie fuses - maybe I should also get Monique spares?

I figure if I carry spares of stuff that wasn't designed to pack it in on cue why the **** wouldn't I carry spares of something whose only reason for existing is to fail?
