Jule Amps Monique part 5

Totally loving my Monique M700, FDeck helped stop the outdoor stage from shaking. 
I took my Mesa WalkAbout to band practice this week and it'll be for sale soon. Monique M700 simply outclasses it IMO.
My old Fender Studio Bass amp ain't going nowhere though. It holds its own with a strong Fender flavour vs Monique's Ampeg-type flavour (at 1/4 of the weight).

You are so right on the "Ampeg-type flavor" I'm basically using my Monique/M700 interchangeably with my reissue V4b. Each has a few unique tricks that other can't replicate. It's an ideal stable for me.
That's an S15LX-D; slightly larger box (same as their 210 I believe) for more low-end than the regular S15s. I also have one without tweeter, and combined it's all I will ever need, speaker-wise.
It is not a regular Bag End option, but my dealer decided it should be. ;-)
Gents and ladies (if ladies there be here), after much deliberation, I am letting go of my Monique Tardis preamp. Please don't ask me to justify it -- I only want to inform folks of its availability and to register my appreciation for the community here and for the gent who built it. Haven't spoken with Jule in awhile, but I've always found him to be helpful and full of genuine enthusiasm for what he does and for the people who use the tools he makes.
Also, since some kind folks have asked, I'm fine -- not selling out of financial duress, still playing -- just making some adjustments.

I have a second hand Monique with a Hypex power module in it. The previous owner changed the original tubes to some soviet army tubes. It works fine but there is quite a lot of noise and hiss coming from both line out and DI out. I was wondering what are the original tubes in Monique? I might change it back to original.

Ordered a set of monitors for the band. But I couldn't help myself. They won't replace my 210AVs but they don't sound bad.
I just got done running a rehearsal. I ran the mixer into my M700 and into the EV ELX 112s as monitors. That was a Roland electric kit, bass, guitar and vocals.

It is possible that the "soviet army tubes" are the Shuguang 6SL7/6N9P tubes. They are the current preference.
If you want to try new tubes, you have choices. Current builds are 2 Shuguang 6SL7/6N9P, 1 JJ 12AU7, and 1 JJ EZ81. The most readily available 6SL7 is the SovTek. They can be quite good, but manufacturing quality varies widely.The Tungsols (like the SovTek, both are made by Electro Harmonix) are good too but a bit stiff. The Tungsols have Epi Pen pricing. The 6SL7/6N9P made for the Russian market is from Shuguang. It is also labeled 6N9P. It is quite good/musical.
Just received my M2500 back from Jule, with a nice fan modification...
Background story...I asked to have the M700 fan installed quite awhile ago, as it's quieter in a studio environment (but less CFM's than the stock M2500 fan...)
Recently, Jule emailed me, and asked if I wanted him to install a variable speed control (and reinstall the stock M2500 fan)... I believe he's making it the standard offering for an M2500.
Well, it's perfect! Now, I can set it as quiet as the M700 fan, or run it at max outdoors (and any speed in between...) When turned up to max, it moves some serious air. I took the knob off to show it's a very common size control stem used.
To further clarify, I never experienced a shut down problem with the M700 fan installed...but this gives me better peace of mind, regarding heat management.
Btw, this was all Jule's idea...yet another example of the class guy he is...continuing to watch over his products and customers! Thanks, Jule!

I learned some things years ago working with good people doing outdoor gigs in Austin and Houston. Gotta move some air for those gigs. For the techies, the fan speed control is a PWM circuit. Full control from max ON to just barely moving, to OFF.
Last week I had one interesting setup at my church gig, no amps on stage, we run a roland kit, keys, bass, guitar and three vocals straight to the board, I ran an aux mix into the M700 and the entire band shared the two EV monitors that I posted above powered by the M700, no IEMs. Of course I used Monique as a DI.
Was running late to a rehearsal this week and decided I could live without Monique for the night and instead of running Mo into the effects return I plugged directly into an older Hartke head at the rehearsal studio. Bugged the heck out of me and fidgeted with knobs all night. First and last time I leave home without her unless the V4b is in tow.
I'm finally sending my rack mount pre in to get upgraded with an integrated M700. I can't wait to get it back so I can downsize from a 4U rack to a 2U rack. Yay!
A Monique bamboo preamp showed up on TV.... The Late Late Show with James Corden. Bassist is Hagar Ben-Ari.

She is a great lady as well as an amazing bass player. There are a couple Moniques there at CBS, but unseen due to dark stages. But you can hear them.
I set up a Facebook group for questions and postings about Monique and the amplifiers. Just message me on FB (Jule Potter) and I will get you into the group (Jule Amps for bass and guitar). As someone wisely already said, "I guess it is for droolers too?"
Looks like an Elrick NJ4. Can you tell what that is under the Monique? Kind of looks like a MarkBass head, but it's hard to tell.
