It's seems it's not the finished product so.... we have quite a few relays, many caps, fets, and resistors still need to be added... looks like a 9 volt D.C. Jack.

Hmmmm without seeing the inside of the other piece, my guess is perhaps a preamp pedal? One can only wish!

Oh how I dream of Jule making a tube preamp/DI pedal that has the features of the Mesa Subway DI. That would be outstanding!!

With an adjustable HPF in it. :thumbsup: Now that would be downright ticklish. (Wish list for Jule)

It may be finished now. I think it'll be ready for Summer NAMM. ;) You may note that this is only the lower board. Details not released beyond this picture. Pots/jacks will not be board mounted beyond that power in.

I was wondering if there would be another board mounted on top judging from those corner holes on the pc board. I'm very excited!! Thanks for torturing us with this tease lol!!! But it's nice to know that new stuff is coming from Jule!

You can see the plug connectors, which is a good give away. I actually don't have any more information from @juledude, I think he wants a Summer NAMM surprise. If'n it's a preamp, I'm down because I do sometimes get faced with provided or 'shared' backline...if it's another floor toy I'd enjoy that too. Even with my regular rig, I've been thinking about something to provide clean boost for my Divaricator->Xerograph Deluxe effects loop.

Beautiful foggy day (again) here in Santa Cruz. Thanks for the posts Bill.

This was posted, for the most part, because I'm stoked (stoked is a Santa Cruz word for bat poopie happy) to see this thing coming together after several years of investigation/work/dead ends/successful bits and spending. I expected it to be ready about a year ago.

It takes greatly more time to make something small and serviceable than it does to stuff stuff into a 2U chassis.

So what is it?

I'll tell you next week after all the final parts arrive and I have played the thing. I am not being cagey. The reality of successful development is that you end up with a bunch of working chunks of electronics spread about in the shop. All very exciting, messy and ugly. Putting all those chunks together with the exact part that fits the PCB is a process rife with drama.

I can tell you that it uses discrete FETs (three different types). I'll post more pics after it makes music - unless it sucks. ;-)

Hmm...

After studying the photo, factoring in the discussion, the few components I can identify, the color of the box, the pattern and condition of the carpet... Uh-huh.

I have an idea. I don't think I'm wrong, but I might not be entirely right. That's all I'll say until the non-disclosure agreement that I made with myself expires.
