Maybe that is an aux in?

A lot of pots on there. So guessing here...Low, mid, high, maybe sweepable mid, input and output gain, DI level, perhaps Aux or headphone level, perhaps switches for preamp post eq for di, switches for shifting frequency centers..... I can't take the suspense!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!

I was just gonna post and see if someone wanted to make a guess on the functions of the controls.
I'm gonna take a guess and say this would be a perfect partner for my Crest ProLite that is no longer being used. Whadda ya think?

Got my attention!

A smart move for Jule, if this what I'm pretty sure this is. I'm assuming we're getting a FET EQ/DI in stompbox form that sounds close enough to Monique but way more affordable and can compete with some "other" stomp box style DIs that shall remain nameless....am I right!? Am I right!?

If it gives the same 3D tubey feel of the Monique, I will absolutely be ordering one of these. Had been eyeing the Noble, as the board friendly form factor is super intriguing to me, but I've never liked my tone more than when I owned a Monique, and would definitely give this a try if it is what we all think(hope) it is!

I gave the Noble a shot. Sounds great driving the tube power section of an SVT like how Tim Lefevre uses it. But on in-ear gigs the difference between Monique and Noble was staggering. Monique is WAY more 3-D and just all around pleasant. Jack also didn't take into account people using the Noble as a standalone DI so the XLR out is always at max volume and the volume knob only controls the 1/4" out. Not cool, IMO. Monique conquers all, IME! Stoked to hear how this pedal compares....

If this is what we're all guessing it is...pretty sure the "author" of Monique is NOT going to "release it out the door" with out some of the crucial features that make Monique...well, "Monique"...

I for one, take my black box with confidence each time, knowing I can adjust the DI and Line level to whatever I run into... I think of it as a "Swiss Army knife" of musical weapons...and I haven't even mentioned the incredible butter tube tone, yet!

That said...to have a "Monique-esque" tiny box to throw in my bag...am I dreaming?!drool

This was posted, for the most part, because I'm stoked (stoked is a Santa Cruz word for bat poopie happy) to see this thing coming together after several years of investigation/work/dead ends/successful bits and spending. I expected it to be ready about a year ago.

So what is it?

I'll tell you next week after all the final parts arrive and I have played the thing. I am not being cagey. The reality of successful development is that you end up with a bunch of working chunks of electronics spread about in the shop. All very exciting, messy and ugly. Putting all those chunks together with the exact part that fits the PCB is a process rife with drama.

I can tell you that it uses discrete FETs (three different types). I'll post more pics after it makes music - unless it sucks. ;-)

A small preamp that's a sister to Monique would be a good thing. I have some gigs these days where provided backline is fairly highly er...suggested. ;) Possible also a fly-gig or two in the future. Would be great to have this on hand to make nice with the various setups that I'm sometimes faced with if it provides a similar 'end user experience'. ;)

Hello All. I have a question for anyone who might care to answer/share some advice. I play a 6 string bass. I play all solo improvisational stuff. I'm the consumate woodshedder. However, I'd like to start to record what I'm playing. I play through a DeMonique Tardis and a pair of Baer ML112s. And, as you all know, the Jule tone is amazing. I've never recorded anything before. How do I best connect to a computer and maintain (as close as possible) my sound? I'm not looking to mic the cabinets. I'm just wondering what sort of interface do I use? What software might I need? Do I plug into the DI section of Monique or do I come out of another output. Obviously, I am quite green when it comes to recording. I'm posting the questions here because I believe that you folks, possibly more than anyone else, know what great tone is all about, and would best understand my desire to reproduce it. So, with all this said, any thoughts??? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use the DI XLR output on my Monique. XLR to balanced TRS jack to line input on either my RME Fireface 800 or Focusrite Scarlett 18i8. The Scarlett interfaces are great value. You will also need a DAW. If you´re on a Windows PC, I recommend Cubase. If you´re on a Mac I would go with Logic.
Edit: Even Garageband will be fine in the beginning if you´re on mac...

Yes, you only need 1 input to record 1 instrument. Scarlett 2i2 will work. With the small price differences on these interfaces I would at least have 2 inputs. And if you can afford it, the 6i6 can even record band rehearsals with multiple microphones. What I like with the 6i6 and 18i8 is that there are fixed line inputs on the back, so you can control the input direct from Monique´s balanced output volume control.
